How to negotiate with a hotel manager ?
CASE STUDY 3 years ago, my girlfriends and I planned to stay in a thermal hotel for termtime. We were so excited because we have been saving money and waiting this holiday for a long time.Because of this , before l decide, l researched the best possible room rate on each hotel's website and made a note of its. And than we decided up for a hotel for 6days/5night ,it was hoped to be a fun last mini-vacation of the winter in Afyon in Turkey. That hotel had four stars. The sentences that commented on hotel’s website sounded nice to me. We influenced from comments and hotel’s website so l called the hotel directly and asked for that specific room for 5 nights. They gave me a conformation number to pay and l booked for 5days. 2 weeks later, we went there about 23.30 pm. First impressions was look great, the facede cleaning was great but when we entered to the hotel ,noticed that there was a terribal smell. We waited to be checked in, , it took about 45 minutes in line to check in.
The young lady looked perplexed at the computer and the young man was dealing with two men at the other computer for 30 minutes. I timed it with my watch as I waited patiently to check in. No apologies were ever made. After that we paid 50$ per each person and per each day. (totally 5*50=250$ ) It included , breakfast, housekeeping, dinner, free mini frizer .. etc. After that, when we got to our room the quality of the room furniture was bad, and in the whole room you could not find a full length mirror. We noticed a distinct cigarette smoke smell in the supposedly non-smoking hotel. Some lightbulbs worked, some didn't, one cheap plastic chair on the balcony, the door handle was broken and had to be opened only a certain way, the beds were hard like a rock, etc etc. We still planned to stay, as it was only going to be five night !? The bathroom was disgusting, did not have an extractor fan,

We did not have an alternative options because the only available room with a view was pre-assign to another guest. Due to their reaction I was forced to unassigned the previous guest and give them room 208. I called the room to check and see how they were doing, and Mrs. Golub still didn't sound too happy. Additionally, before moving them I offered to adjust $50 off their room rate, which they were not satisfied with. I got them into a better room so the $50 was not adjusted off.…
