How to Make a Simple Birthday Cake
Have you ever wanted to make a birthday cake for someone special but not know how? Well, here is how to make a simple birthday cake. All you'll need is a little time, love, and a few items from the grocery store. You will need a box of cake mix (the favorite flavor of the birthday person), shortening, eggs, oil, flour, and birthday candles (the number will depend on the age of the birthday person.) When you get home, you will need to gather a few items: a large mixing bowl, a large cake pan, an electric mixer or a large mixing spoon, a rubber spatula, measuring cups and spoons. Once you know you have all the items necessary to bake a birthday cake out and ready, you may begin the process.
First, you will need to wash your hands and the work area. You must do this so that the cake doesn’t get full of all the dirt and different germs that you touched throughout the day. Read through the directions on the cake box to be sure you have everything you need. Then, gather all of your equipment and food items in your work area, organize it according to the order you will use them in making your cake. Be sure to preheat your oven to the appropriate temperature before you begin.
Next, put the dry cake mix into your large mixing bowl. Then, put the recommended amount of water, oil, and eggs into the mix. With the electric mixer or mixing spoon, mix the batter until it is smooth and free of clumps. If it is made with clumps, there will be little clumps of unmixed batter in the final product. Next, grease the large cake pan. If you wish, you can wrap your fingers with wax paper to keep them from getting greasy. Greasing the pan will help keep the cake from sticking to the pan when its cooked. Then, flour the pan lightly. If you do this over the garbage can, it will be easier to clean your work area later. Next, pour the cake batter into the cake pan, using the rubber spatula to scrape all of

    How to Bake a Cake

The first step in baking a cake is preheating the oven to 350oF, which is essential because the oven needs to be hot by the time you put the cake in. Then, the mixing process begins by combining all the dry ingredients. You are going to put one and half cups of flour, one cup of sugar, and since we are making chocolate cake, a fourth of a cup of cocoa into a mixing bowl. After placing these ingredients into a bowl, combine it with: two eggs, one-third cup of softened butter, a half of a cup of water, a half of teaspoon of salt, one and three quarters teaspoons of baking powder, and finally one and a half teaspoons of vanilla. It is essential that you do not forget any of these ingredients because a lack of just one ingredient can alter the taste of the cake in addition to the baking process. After mixing these ingredients together, you will need a 9x13-inch pan and you are going to spray it with non-stick spray. Then, take your liquid batter and pour it into the pan. After the mixture is out of the bowl, you want to spread it in the pan evenly. Spreading it evenly is critical because if it is not spread evenly, the cake will not be baked in an attractive shape and some parts of the cake could not be cooked correctly. Once the batter is spread evenly in the pan, you are ready to go on to the next step.…

Refrain from making the biggest, most common mistake of the baking world: using a boxed cake mix. Yes, it is a much quicker, mindless way to make a cake, but the cake never tastes quite as good when it’s from a box. Bakers around the world don’t take anyone or the food seriously if a pre-made mix is used in a recipe. These professionals do this rightfully so; having Betty Crocker’s help in the kitchen is considered cheating in the culinary world. The best way to go when making a cake is using a family recipe; using Grandma’s old recipes is as good as it gets. Or, if a family recipe isn’t available, grab a cookbook from a well-known chef and follow their instructions for preparation.…
