How To Anticipate In The Special Olympics
One of the service learning projects I have participated in is taking part in the 2015 Special Olympics. After lending a helping hand, passing out food to the athletes and seeing them perform I was very impressed. I learned that even though those people had disabilities, they were no different from us. They did not want to be treated differently because of their impairments; they wanted to be treated equal and I respected that. After bonding with an athlete named Brianna, she made me cry. Her mother told me how she was born a preemie, also she is autistic. She has difficulty walking because her legs were underdeveloped when she was born.
