How Responsible Was Hitler for the Outbreak of Ww2
Hitler was responsible for the outbreak of World War 2(1939) to a significant extent. The many things that he did like going against the Treaty of Versailles which included the rearmament of Germany, his Lebensraum policy where he wanted to take over neighboring lands and gain more territory for Germany and his disrespect to the treaties he made. While Hitler was a great cause for World War 2, he was not the sole reason. The Great Depression, the weak leaders of the League of Nations and their appeasement policies, the harshness of the Treaty of Versailles and Stalin 's decision not to do anything. One of the major terms of the Treaty of Versailles was that Germany could not have a large army. The term was placed so that the French did not have to fear another invasion from the Germans but exactly that happens. When Hitler is elected in 1933 he starts to militarize Germany. From 1933-1935 Germany 's army is being rebuilt. Hitler creates the Luftwaffe the German air force and builds ships and tanks. Thousands of unemployed men found new work in the military. This helped him reduce unemployment and provide a kick start for the economy. None of the other countries said anything because they felt that the terms of the Treaty of Versailles were too harsh. Even though Hitler made it look like he did not want to rearm to the international community he did so and disregarded the treaty completely. The British even helped the German rearming process by allowing it to increase their navel size to 35% of Britain 's. This made Germany a very powerful country both economically and militarily. At the end of World War 1 the Treaty of Versailles was signed and with that new countries were formed from land taken from Germany. Almost two decades later Hitler started to reclaim that land under the guise of uniting the German people under one nation. This was what he called Lebensraum (Living Space).
