How Miley Cyrus Buried Hannah Montana and Reinvented Herself
Miley Cyrus, the person everybody has talked about since the VMA’s. The girl that was once a country singer and a Disney star, now is a bad influence for... well everybody. She has been of the charts for a year or two after her series had ended “Hannah Montana”. Then she had came out with a single hit “We can’t stop” and everybody was a little off because her music video made no sense from dancing teddy bears to making out with a doll in the pool, but the song was a big hit on its own. Then came the VMA’s, I guess she was drunk or on drugs cause she was so out of it and immature, she had song out of balance, and was everywhere and just looking like she was in outer space, don’t forget her clothing set, that is another issue, but nobody was satisfied with Miley. She had actually had took Lady gaga’s spot in being crazy, now she was just a disgrace to the VMA’s to everybody who watched. So she should be banned from any future ceremonies and contracts till she cleans up her act. Miley Cyrus was a full on embarrassment to herself, but she didn’t care, she had did an appropriate dance to Robin Thicke who alone didn’t look to happy, there was actually a interview with his mother and his mother was saying she thought she would never see the day when Miley Cyrus would be gyrating on her son on live TV alone. There were a couple of pictures of reactions when Miley Cyrus performed and they weren’t too pleased more like shocked or disgusted. She was very immature, she was once a role model to the kids on Disney a few years ago now she’s a disgrace to even be on the VMA’s.
As well, Miley does have some hits on the radio so people might disagree saying she should be allowed, yes she has a good voice and was good at one point, and if she does counties with the hits, she probably will be allowed in future award ceremonies for her single hits but she should not be able to perform, because she showed she’s not mature enough to perform in front of family viewers.
As well she

One of the most popular and overlooked media sources that cultural appropriation has been a dominant topic is the music industry. Last year Billboard reported that music stars were appropriating Black culture into their performances and music videos. Hunger games star Amandla Stenberg called out several white celebrities and icons in a video titled “Don’t Cash Crop My Cornrows” (Billboard). She states that “In 2013, Miley Cyrus twerks and uses black women as props, and then in 2014, in her video called ‘This is How We Do,’ Katy Perry use Ebonics and hand gestures and eats watermelons while wearing cornrows before cutting inexplicably to a picture of Aretha Franklin” (Stenberg). To begin, the fact that Twerking came from New Orleans, Louisiana…

Over the past decade, Britney Spears has gone downhill little by little from becoming famous after being on Disney channel. While doing a case study on Britney Spears, I learned the music industry stole away her innocence and molded it into an attempt to transition from a pop princess to a sexy adult performer that would sweep millions. Her overexposure and paparazzi frenzy causes her to go insane because she has no privacy. Additionally, there is proof that Britney has had many psychotic breakdowns. Maybe the reason for her actions in the past has to do with the fact her children being taken away from her custody and her career going slowly down the drain. Also, she has been in a constant battle with drugs, alcohol, her ex-husband Kevin Federline, and the paparazzi. Secondly, some of the people she hangs with are bad influences from the get-go including famous Paris Hilton. Furthermore, in November 2006 after being friends with Paris, Britney was caught three times wearing no underwear on and exposing herself to the paparazzi (Cowboy). Afterwards, Britney made even poorer choices as her life began to fall to pieces even further which made her a bundle of fans. For example, after reading an article about Britney going downhill, a blogger wrote, “wow I used to actually like you until you became a whore and a crack head and then when you have your first chance you get your kids back you don’t even show up for your court hearings you’re a horrible mother” (Neyna). Many bloggers that used to be fans of Britney agree to this blog.…

However, her twerking was not the only thing she used to make her performance feel black. The song titled “We Can’t Stop” was given to and performed by Cyrus after she said she wanted something that “felt black”. Seeing as the song was originally written for Rihanna, a black music performer, one can say that Cyrus definitely got her wish. Furthermore, Cyrus allegedly said she feels like Lil’ Kim inside, another black music artist, and that she likes “hood” music (Freeman 2013). This only further illustrates the idea that Cyrus may not know what cultural appropriation is because it makes no sense for her as a white woman to say she is a black woman inside without purposefully disrespecting black culture. However, it could also be the case that Cyrus simply does not care about cultural appropriation, but instead cares about her own personal gain from attempting to act like a black woman.…

    Deviance

On August 25, 2013 the world watched in disgust as celebrity Miley Cyrus twerked and gyrated on stage at the Video Music Awards Show. People caused a fuss over her back up dancers all being African American women with large derrieres, her twerking, pointing to her feminine area on her body, pushing her face in one of her dancers derriere while smacking it, grinding on a foam finger, and grinding on a married man. The sociological perspective on deviance is described by “sociologist Howard S. Becker [as]: It is not the act itself, but the reactions to the act, that make something deviant” (Henslin 190). Although this behavior is deemed as normal in music videos and clubs, it was considered unacceptable because Miley Cyrus started her career as a child star on Disney Channel; a cable network that targets children of all ages. Miley started on a sitcom called Hannah Montana and quickly became popular with kids. Even though the star is now 20 years old and no longer work as Hannah Montana she is still considered that little girl from Disney and it shocked the world for her to behave in such a way.…
