How Many Moles in my Name?
Purpose
The purpose of this experiment is to see how many moles there are in my name when writing with a chalk stick. I will attempt to see how little of the chalk I can use and still see my name clearly.

How do we calculate moles?
How might we manipulate the variables?

Theory
So if I am going to find out how many moles there are in my name I have to know how to work it out. The «Mole» is a unit of measurement, just like a dozen or a snes. In order to find out how many moles there are in something you have to figure out two things first, the weight of the object being tested and the chemical composition of it. For example 1 gram of Copper, and the RAM
(relative atomic mass), which is 63.546. You then have to do 1 divided by 63.546 and you’ll get how many moles there are (Weeden, K. (2014), but how should I do it in the current experiment. Well what I would do is to weigh the chalk before I write anything, then I would have to figure out the
RFM, it is relative formula mass and not relative atomic mass because chalk is not an element in the periodic table, meaning it is made up of several elements. Chalk is made up of three elements Calcium, Carbon and Oxygen with the chemical sign CaCO3. Making it’s RFM, rounded up, equal
100 g/mole. I could then write my name, weigh how much the chalk weighs and there for figure how much chalk I used to write my name.

This is where the variables may change the outcome of the experiment. If you press hard some chalk might fall of or stick more to your fingers, some surfaces might be rougher than others and then might make more fall off. Going lighter on the chalk means it’s less likely that parts fall of or become to dust. I could also try to write in cursive, this means I don’t lift the chalk, instead I keep the chalk on the surface the whole time. If I don't write in cursive I’ll lift the chalk up and down from the surface and this might make parts of the chalk
