A tradition is a kind of ritual, belief or object passed down within society. It is a mode of thought or behavior followed by a people or a group of people continuously from generation to generation, a custom or usage. Nowadays there are less and less traditions followed by people in the world. Modern people mostly forgot beliefs of the past. Contemporary life is hectic and filled with events, people are busy all the time and hardly find time for communication. It also reflects social life. But I believe that tradition is an important part on a person’s life and it should be saved. Firstly, tradition is a part of history. If it helped people to exist for centuries, it brings something significant to our life. If a tradition is given up, a part of human life will be lost. We will loose a part of our experience and something what makes us a particular personality. Secondly, by giving up a tradition people will make their life less interesting and less stable. All our holidays are traditions; they have been celebrated for many years by our ancestors. In addition, traditions bring stability to our life; even define events in the near future. Many modern laws are adopted versions of different traditions of the past. Moreover, a family and bringing up children is also a tradition which has been followed for centuries. Finally, traditions are the main part of culture which makes a group of people a unity, a nation. Tradition is also a common belief which can unite absolutely different people into society with a system of laws and standards of morality which are based on traditions too. For example, people whose family has their own tradition or a set of traditions, feel together like a rounded thing than a family without traditions.
In conclusion, traditions are a part of our life, a part of our nature. They make our social life a complete thing. Customs and beliefs also bring stability and system and allow us to feel certain about the future. People should not give up following traditions because they are a part of our sociocultural experience which has brought us to the modern standard of development.
