How Is Montag Happy In Fahrenheit 451
Is he happy or is he not happy the world may never know if it wasn't for, the evidence in the book, Montag at the beginning of the book is asked the question are you happy by a girl named Clarisse. As the book goes on Montag never gives a direct answer to this question as he has to face challenges and never had time to think about it more. Montag begins to figure out his character and figure out what he wants to do with his twisted life. Montag gets to know other people like Faber and granger who influence his life in a positive way. Montag is happy at the end of the book because of Clarisse and Faber helping to get a new experience, and Montag being able overcome his fears and get to live with people who are just like him.

Beating Beatty and the Hound were a big step for Montag, he was afraid of Beatty because of his knowledge, and he was afraid of the Hound because it scared him as said on page 23 “The Hound growled. Montag jumped back.” So imagine you had someone annoying at your job, who is a know it all, and when you start to learn something he makes you get confused, for Montag this was Beatty. Beatty had a suspicion that Montag was trying to learn a lot about books, as said on page 107 when Beatty says “didn't I hint enough when I sent the Hound around your place?” As if things weren't bad enough that Beatty had found Montag out, he also found out that he was listening to someone through the green bullet, and said he was going to trace them. This left Montag no choice but to pull the trigger on the flamethrower and kill Beatty. After that Montag sees the Hound and gets sent flying to a tree by it, then the Hound catches his legs as said on page 114, but Montag finally manages to burn the Hound with the flamethrower. Winning a battle with two things that use to freak me out, that would make me happy enough, and that's why I think this would be another reason off Montag to be
