How Is George Justified In Shooting Lennie
I believe george was justified in shooting lennie, george realized he would not want anyone killing lennie for something he did not mean to do. But also george knew if anything was to happen to him lennie would not be able to live on his own.

Lennie and george have been traveling together ever since lennie's aunt clara died, she asked george to watch after lennie because he's not that intelligent and he gets himself into quite a lot of trouble on his own.

When george and lennie was working in weed, lennie had seen this girl with a pretty red dress on, all he wanted to do was feel the dress but the grabbed it when she started screaming and it ripped her dress and the girl went back into town and told the people lennie rapped her when really he just got scared and held on when she screamed. So they had to leave weeds and go work some place else.

She was told to leave lennie alone because curly intimidated by him because he was a big guy and he was little. So when curley's wife got lennie alone she told him to pet her head and well he did and he petted it hard so she said stop and started screaming lennie doesn't know his own strength so he covered her mouth and threw her around and broke her neck.curly walked in after lennie left and told the other guys then went to get his gun george ran in and then ran out when everyone went searching for lennie before they found him.

I think that because these series of events is why george is justified in shooting lennie, yes it was a hard decision but lennie was not capable of doing anything on his own, and he got himself in this position where george had no other choice but to because he was already going to be shot any way by curly . so he did the job before anyone else

Earlier in the story Curly said that he was going to shoot Lennie in the gut himself. If George had let him do that then Lennie would have suffered much more from that pain than just being shot in the head and quickly dying painlessly. An other possibility is that they turn Lennie into the police. He would have been trialed…

In “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck, George makes a rash decision, and that decision is shooting Lennie. I think George made the right decision shooting Lennie because Curley would’ve made sure Lennie was tortured, and Lennie got to die happy. Also, George gets to make sure no one else can get their hands on Lennie, causing him to get hurt worse than what already happened.…

George knew that Lennie never wanted to hurt Curley’s wife, he was just trying to feel her hair and he had panicked. Lennie shouldn't have been shot, and it pained Lennie especially since he was the one forced to do so. He only touched Curley’s wife because she wanted him to feel how soft her hair was; plus with Lennie loving to feel anything soft he went for the kill ;). Point being, my opinion is that Lennie should not have been killed by…

One may want to say that what George did, that is shooting Lennie, was either the right or wrong decision. To put it into such a black and white decision, right or wrong, good or bad, compassion or unjustification, cannot fully describe the choice that George made. You cannot truly say if what he did was right or not, but simply that he had to. What George did was something that his moral compass told him must be done. How can you say that they would have gotten away if George had done otherwise, that they would have escaped and made it to another ranch and continued on with their lives. Chances are they would not get away, chances are Lennie would have died either way, creating a situation even more cataclysmic on Georges…

If Curley’s wife would’ve left the premises like she was asked to, this tragedy would have never been close to occurring, This selfless act committed by Lennie was in no means on purpose, he has no idea what action he is doing when he does this, he can hardly control his own body movements.
