How Does The Five People We Meet In Heaven
In the beginning of The Five People We Meet In Heaven we meet our main character Eddie when it is his 83rd birthday. We learn that Eddie is the maintenance man and that he tests the amusement rides at Ruby Pier to make sure their safe. We also see that Eddie dies from a falling amusement cart and journeys to heaven where the rest of the story takes place. In the first chapter, we are also are introduced to a little girl who Eddie tries to save from the falling amusement.

Also it also showed foreshadowing. It told us about the key that fell of a man’s pocket. That key itself was what had made the ride get ruined. At that part that’s when we would infer that the key will do something in the story later on. I thought this because why would

But later on Eddie’s dad dies and Eddie is still mad at him. Eddie was injured when he was a soldier in war. He is very depressed before he died he had a bad leg and was walking with a cane. He constantly asked himself what is the purpose of life and what it would’ve been like if he had left the Ruby Pier. Eddie dies and then he gets to meet people. First it is a blue skinned man who had a lot to say. Later on he meets more and more people in heaven. We also see side notes of eddies birthday and what he had and what it was like when he was on …show more content…
He threw them up and then he failed. The crazies were foreign. So Eddie showed his juggling skills. Then all of the 4 crazies started watching him. Eddie had an amazing plan. Then Eddie got about 4 bricks. Him and his co soldiers killed all the 4 crazies. They were all relived that they got away. The climax in my opinion happens when Eddie meets the woman Tala. This occurs toward the end of the book. She also says "You burn me. You make me fire" this sentence was on page 188 in the book. In one of the part of the story Eddie and his other soldiers would be held captured. Once they freed themselves they burnt the huts down. Eddie heard like someone was in the hut. The rest of the soldiers thought that Eddie was just hallucinating. Well they were wrong. Eddie burned Tala. That would be the climax of this story.

The falling action is right after the climax. After Tala Tells Eddie that he burned her he started to question his life. Tala asks him why he was so sad on earth. He answered with I haven’t accomplished anything. Then Tala says you where were you were supposed to be. You were a maintenance man that fixed the rides, which saved people from dying. You did what you where supposed to. You saved that last person before you died. Than Eddie felt like he did what he is supposed

When Eddie meets his third person, Ruby, he was told the story of how his father died. He was told that his father died saving Mickey. Mickey was one of Eddie’s father’s close friends. When Eddie’s father arrived home and saw Mickey with his wife, his intention was to hurt him, but when Mickey was found in the ocean unconscious with foam coming out of his mouth, Eddie’s father rescued him. After Eddie heard this he said, “Everything he thought he’d know about his father, he didn’t seem to know anymore” (Albom 136). Eddie’s whole life he viewed his father as an abusive drunk, but hearing how he rescued Mickey, his attitude towards him changed. Eddie no longer resented his father. He now had respect for him for his heroic actions. After hearing Eddie’s father's story, Eddie’s relationship had a positive change. He was able to find closure with his father. Considering he was Eddie’s father, Eddie always wanted to see the best in him. Albom developed that although Eddie’s father was mean to Eddie throughout his life, even the smallest amount of hope that his father was an acceptable person completely changed how Eddie viewed him. This shows how relationships are all connected because Eddie’s short interaction with Ruby changed his relationship with his…

Netta and Eddie are both hard working people who make an effort to try and get things done and through their pride and determination they are able to accomplish great things. Eddie fights for the rights and pride of his people while Netta stands by his side as well as constantly supporting the children by looking after them and working to provide food for them. Eddie was a focused and determined man and we see this throughout the film, one part was when Netta asked Eddie “what if you don’t win”, Eddie replies “DON’T YOU DARE!.” Perkins purposely put this scene it to show the dedication and resilience Eddie Mabo had in order to gain justice for his people, however Eddie would not be able to accomplish such tasks if it wasn’t for the strength and provisional care that Netta had for his children. Therefore without Netta’s assistance with the children Eddie couldn’t have been able to successfully focus on winning the court case for the future of his…
