The first way the Black Death helped the European economy was that it led to the fall of feudalism. Feudalism was a burden on the European economy’s growth because it made it where people were stuck in the social class that they were born into forever, but with the fall of feudalism people now were not locked into a certain social class. The Renaissance was a very positive time in Europe because “The Renaissance revealed to men another world, another state of existence; for such was the real significance, to the men of the revival, of the discovery of the civilization of classical antiquity.” This revival of Europe was key because it was a great age of learning, new art, and new education. The Black Death was the main reason this period of time even existed, without the Black Death Feudalism would have likely never have been abandoned and the great age in Europe that was the Renaissance would have never come about.
