How Did America Win The Revolutionary War
American Revolution
Independence from Britain

The Revolutionary war was a series of battle between the British and the Americans. The British had a much larger army than the Americans. The Continental Army, which is the army that is fighting for america, consisted of only some of the Americans. Loyalists were those in the colonies that wanted to remain loyal to the British King, the loyalists refused to fight with the other colonists. The French became allies with the Americans because they wanted revenge for the Seven Years War. The question everyone asks is how did America win the war? The American army lacked everything that made a successful army. They did not have proper training, they weren't equipped with supplies, they had very

The Colonist had very leaderful leaders. The British leaders decided to have a plan where they would seize the Hudson River and cut off New England from the rest of the colonies. They would do this with a three-pronged attack. This strategy did not work because the leaders did not take into consideration that there will be battles along the way and supplies will be lost along with soldiers. The American leaders knew to take battles into consideration so they developed their plan around battles. They would retreat from battles so they can work their way up the appalachian Mountains to attack down hill. This was excellent leadership at work. Their excellent leadership definitely won the war for the Colonists.

“ How could the Colonist win the war?” That question is now answered. The Colonists won the war for our freedom today and established our entire country. Now when you think about America thank the Colonists for winning the American Revolution with the advantages of leadership, knowledge of the land, foreign aid , and most of all motivation. Their motivation set the path for the rest of eternity on Earth. The Colonists made America who we are

The colonists realised that they needed help if they were going to win the war, so the France getting involved was perhaps one of the most important factors that led to the success of the colonists. It was Benjamin Franklin who asked the French to help in the resistance. The French, who were defeated during the Seven Years of War, saw the colonists’ rebellion as an opportunity to hurt the British. So, on February 6, 1778, representatives from both sides signed the Treaty of Alliance and the Treaty of Amity, which stated that the colonists and French were now working together. The French supplied the colonists with arms, ammunition, and troops. The colonists utilized the French’s help in crucial future battles. Without the extra supplies and…

    5) Yes, the English lost the revolutionary war more than the colonist won it because the colonist barely won the war. The colonist had virtually no chance against the British. The British had money, the best navy in the world, and a large standing army. The only reason why America had the advantage that they did was because of France and Spain.…

The Revolutionary War was one of the most important events in history for America and Britain. The war, in a way, helped America become its own nation and declare independence from Britain. At the time of the Revolutionary War, the English were in control of the Americans. Both sides had crucial advantages over each other that decided the outcome of the war. Let’s start with colonists; one of the biggest advantages they had over Britain was they had a major cause for wanting to fight. They were fighting for their independence, pride, liberty and the rights they deserved. They had a desire to win which was probably stronger than England’s desire because they were fighting for their own cause. Another major advantage America had was how far away from home the British were. They were over 3,000 miles from home, leading to poor communication with supply lines and their leaders. America was unfamiliar territory for the English which was another major advantage the colonists had. It was difficult for the British to capture and hold territory because of how large America was. America knew the ins and outs of their own land, including where to hide and shortcuts. Another reason America had an advantage over Britain was that the English citizens were tired of war. The war had begun to turn into years and citizens were getting tired of paying taxes and just the war in general. In my opinion one of the biggest advantages the colonists had was how great a leader George Washington was. American soldiers were outnumbered and not as well trained as the English soldiers, but because of Washington’s brilliance and strategy it helped the colonists prevail over Britain. On the other hand Britain also had many advantages over the Americans. A major advantage the British had was they were very wealthy and could pay their soldiers to fight. They also had much more supplies for their…

The year is 1775. The British are at war with the colonies, and unfortunately, for the colonies, a neutral observer in such a time would have picked the British for the win hands down due to their immense military strength, the colonies’ lack of metallic wealth, and the geographic fragmentation of the colonies.…

It could be argued that because the colonists did have the help of France, and that Britain was in a poor economic state. For one, Britain forced its soldiers to fight or sign up, and then trained them to follow every command. This meant that Britain had complete control over their soldiers. This also meant that they had more soldiers to fight with. More soldiers that are more skilled is, based on common sense, almost a guaranteed win. The final reason why it was improbable for the British to lose was that they had more supplies than the colonists. More supplies would mean a higher moral, and not as famished soldiers. These are a few of the reasons why Britain should have won, but there are some good reasons why they…

Looking back at Revolutionary War, you might question how America successfully defeated the British considering the British army was the best trained and equipped, and possibly the most professional army in the world. In contrast, America was in a state of disorganization when it came to economics and politics. The national government as a whole was greatly powerless. Unlike the British army, the American army was inadequately trained, had little supplies, and was not paid very well. Practically the British had all of the advantages, but the colonies still won their independence.…

From the beginning of the Revolutionary War it seemed like a dead give away, most assumed the British were going to win because they not only possessed the largest navy in the world, but one of the strongest; on top of that they were working with a well established and organized military with some of the most experienced generals of their time. But these advantages seemed to have no impact on the 13 colonies whom had the desire and…

Some disadvantages that the colonist had while fighting Britain which Ellis talked about, was that Britain was rich and the colonist were poor. Second, its navy was much stronger than the colonist’s. This was a huge disadvantage because this meant that 7 of their major cities were at danger (Boston, Newport, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Charleston). Lastly, Britain’s army was highly trained while the colonist’s armies were mostly farmers. The only way they could be defeated would be if they were highly outnumbered but in this case, it was the opposite. Some advantages that the colonist had were, the British had to travel a long distance to get to the colonists, so they couldn’t afford to take heavy losses because it would take a while for them to fill the gap. Second, it would be hard for the British to resupply. Lastly, the Colonist knew the land a lot better than the British, so it would be easier for them to plan battle strategies.…

The Declaration of Independence was a turning point for America's sense of identity, however the French and Indian War was even more instrumental to the formation of America's Identity. The war led to the first attempt at an organized government, it started to unify the colonies and contributed to the rowing feeling that self-government was necessary. The growing tension with the Native Americans and the foreign French led the British to call colonial representatives for a meeting in Albany, New York, which would later be called the Albany Congress. How the American’s won the Revolutionary War. In my opinion, it was purely by determination and luck. If the British had actually known that there were planted, so to speak, they probably would’ve won. They just didn’t know the territory and walked directly into attacks that they were not expecting. The British thought that they had the war won because they thought we invaded America we have the power but they were wrong because when they stepped foot in the tramp But, yet, they didn’t. They didn’t have a clue as to what would happen. And they didn’t know the impotence and determination that the colonists had to be free. George Washington’s leadership abilities helped greatly. He did not try to take it all for himself, he tried to help the people and won the respect of the slaves that he by the council won the liberty of them. He delegated things to other commanding officers, and that was the right move to make. The financial and military support from France helped quite a lot. If France hadn’t helped them in this war, it would most likely have been lost. Because we did not…

In the French and Indian War Washington was chosen to be the leader of the American Army because of how well Washington knew the woods. This war was won by the Americans. After this war the English wanted the Americans to pay for the war with the French and they refused. This is what prompted the war between the English and the Colonies. The Second Continental Congress created the Continental Army and George Washington was made the general of this army. He trained his men to fight the British and the first battle took place in Massachusets and was the Battle of Lexington and Concord. George Washington was an outstanding general. He and his troops won many battles with the British. He knew the country side so well that the British had no way of knowing when and where his troops would attack next. He took down many enemy troops with guerilla fighting tactics. This proved to work numerous times and helped to eventually win the war. Washington pushed his soldiers to the extremes and often times they wouldn’t eat for weeks, but he still treated them very well. Washington wouldn’t give up at all for his country and for this his men trusted him very well and looked up to him. The ways of fighting the battles shows how great of a general he was. In the final years of the war the colonists had surrounded the recoats in York Town. Washington leads his troops into battle at the Battle of York Town. The colonists came out victorious at the end of the battle. Because of Washington’s valiant efforts to win the war the Treaty op Paris was signed on September 3 of 1783.…
