Grandma Phoenix has to travel a long way to get her destination. She has to get through trees, animals and dangerous hunters. This story takes place in the winter. She has to endure the physical trails of going on this journey, because it’s hard for an old woman to travel in the snow. Especially in December. Phoenix pays no mind to the snow. She has to travel from her home, into the woods, and into town. She also used her obstacles to be her motivation in a way. Granny Phoenix didn’t take the hunter as a threat, but more or so found him as a joke. “Well, Granny!" he laughed. "What are you doing there?” "Lying on my back like a June-bug waiting to be fumed over, mister," she said, reaching up her hand.” She didn’t get upset at the Hunter when he pointed a loaded gun in her face. This shows her side of bravery, it how’s no matter what, she had hope in getting that medication for her grandson/. No matter what obstacle she comes encounter with in her path, she stays true to herself and remains calm and relaxed, and she never lost her motivation. “Doesn't the gun scare you?" he said, still pointing it. "No, sir, I seen plenty go off closer by, in my day, and for less than what I done," she said, holding utterly still. Granny Phoenix is a very strong woman. This could also be the reason that she doesn’t panic in dangerous situations. She’s been more than what we know or even can imagine. She kind of laughs at danger, she’s nonchalant towards it.
