Hope Chapter Summaries
Prologue - Chapter One: Before the story began, Charlie Wilcox started his adventure at the age of fourteen by being shipped off to England, by a boy with the name of Clint, who tormented Charlie for years before he left for war. In England, Charlie fought many battles, where he also had made many friends. Now, Charlie returned to his homeland, where his friends and family awaited.
Chapter Two - Chapter Three: Now that Charlie had arrived home safely, Charlie remembered the things he had once seen in the past, things of blood and war. However, Jenny Jackson, a mother of a young man who went to war alongside of Charlie, a man named Philip, didn’t return. Jenny then requested Charlie to tell stories of her son, and perhaps explain a little …show more content…
He remembered the blood and the dying people who laid within the trenches. He was trying to find his spyglass due to the fact that he had lost it. But during his search for the spyglass, he ran into a man named Tom, who then helped him throw the bodies away, otherwise known as a stretcher-bearer. But Charlie didn’t know a lot about Tom, and the question is who was Tom? Charlie then ran into Philip, the best friend of Clint, and soon, Charlie found himself helping Philip, to prepare him for an upcoming battle.
Chapter Eight - Chapter Nine: Charlie, in the middle of the battle, ran into Murphy, the fiancé of Emma, who was laying on the floor on the verge of defeat and death. Now, Murphy´s fate was undetermined. Would he give up and die? Or would he live to see the end of the war? Charlie met up with Tom who had his belongings, however, when Charlie caught sight of Doctor Robert Daniels, Charlie hid or else he would end up leaving. The battle was still raging on and Charlie is exhausted and sick, would Charlie manage to survive emotionally, mentally, and physically?

He remembered him helping a wounded soldier, with the assistance of Tom. The soldier was so wounded that blood was pouring out of him. Charlie began to go insane at the sight. Would he recover from all that he’s seen?
Charlie saw Murphy again, who was surprisingly alive. However, Murphy was deeply wounded and Charlie must wait until night to help him or else there would be a chance he would be shot and killed. Would Murphy make it in
