During our childhood, our parents teach us one of the greatest human values: always telling the truth. Based on this, parents can help us resolve life problems, and we build a strong familial relationship with them. For example, lying or omitting the truth towards our parents, leads us getting in trouble or even in life threatening situations. Sometimes might be too late for them to help us, even if they try hard to do as much as possible to get us out of the problems. Besides, lies lead to other lies at sooner or latter we will be discovered. Consequently, parents may lose their trust in us, and they will doubt almost everything we are going to do or to say for a long time, even if they will continue to love us no matter what.
Likewise, during adulthood, in any professional relationship being honest is extremely important. Lying in any form may put in danger our colleagues, firm, or our career. In addition, getting bad references will mark our professional future forever. Being reliable is an important professional quality.
Furthermore, being an honest person is awfully significant in any long term relationship, such as a friendship or a marriage relation. To illustrate, a trustful human being will have many real friends to count on in difficult times, but also to just hang out. Similarly, a marriage is based mostly on trust, respect, and communication, besides love. If one of the partners is cheating at any moment, this will put a strain on their relation or will lead to divorce.
In summary, trust is built up throughout our lives. Telling a lie at any moment can hurt someone’s feelings and destroy a relationship. Dishonesty may affect our friendships, career, or marriage. Telling the truth may be difficult sometimes, but this the right way to do.

I will first talk about the reason of importance of being honest to your parents. It is important to be honest to your parents because if you are honest to your parents they will be able to trust you, but, if you lie about every little thing possible like video games, they will not be able to believe you when something big happens and you’re telling the truth. They will think you are not telling the truth. Also if you are honest and your parents can trust you, they may reward you and allow you to do more things or buy things. If all you do is lie to them all the time they will most likely limit what you do, ground you, and not allow you to do fun things like playing games, fishing, playing sports, or playing with your friends. Also, if you tell them the truth they will have more respect for you and will appreciate that you are being honest and will not be as mad as if you were to lie. If you’re honest your whole family can trust you.…

The debate over the acceptability of lying is a complicated one. Some feel that it is morally wrong and only ever worsens a situation. Others feel that it is acceptable in cases where feelings could be hurt, or if a person’s self-esteem may be lowered. However, there are instances in which lying happens simply to avoid the consequences of a person’s actions, and most would agree that it is morally wrong. Instead of going back and forth between “lying is wrong” and “lying is okay sometimes,” a better use of our time would be learning to improve our honesty with ourselves and with the people around…

In the article “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell the Truth” he says that telling the truth can keep a relationship based on reality while also saying that lying keeps people locked their own mind. He states that. “‘ Many people think think they tell the truth, but they don’t because they withhold information. Have the courage to be honest and have a relationship with others based on reality’” (5). If people did not lie then they know that their relationships with friends are based off of facts and not manipulated information. However most relationships are not perfect and some relations might even end if everyone did not withdraw information to one another. The article also says that, “‘But it’s just as likely that you’ll end up losing people whom you don’t want around you anyway’” (15). But if people be honest to each other, they might lose people that they actually want in their lives. Being honest is good but if one is honest they are very likely to offend people and lose friendships in the end. In conclusion, Blanton says that telling the truth can help a relationship with a friend as well as saying that lying keeps people locked in their own minds however relationships can never be perfect and if people were honest they might lose their…

Lies are told around the world multiple times during the day. Everyone sitting in this room has probably once today, said a lie. Sometimes lying is understandable for someone’s protection but sometimes the truth is essential to the person. There are multiple things people say in a day that are seen as lies such as “That outfit looks really good on you!,” “It wasn’t me!” and “I’ll be with you in a few minutes.” Honestly is not always the best policy because in the end it does not make everything better. People tell little lies so that they protect someone they care about and not hurt the feelings of another person. Next, being honest keeps trust with others. For example, Cohen states in the article, “It’s the Truth: Americans Conflicted About Lying” that “One key cost is credibility: Once a person finds out you lied, you lose currency in their eyes” (Para. 12). This shows how you should tell the truth instead of lying. This also shows how being honest keeps trust with others. Your credibility is not worth giving up for a lie.…

“If I could only give three words of advice, they would be, “tell the truth”. If I got three more words, I'd add: “All the time”. This is something I truly believe in. If you tell someone a lie when you mess up and they catch you, that person will lose trust in you and you will lose their loyalty. But if you tell the truth all the time, a person will know that when it comes down to it, they can trust you in other things and they will be loyal to you for being honest with them and taking responsibility for your own actions or mess ups.…
