Homework Isn't a Waste of Time
Homework is defiantly not a waste of time. We understand more of what we learned at school, it gives us a chance to show how responsible we are by working independently, and it teaches us how to become more organized. These are just some of the reasons why I think that homework is not a waste of time. But I'm sure that there are plenty more of why homework is a good thing. Studies shown homework can make you smarter and more successful in life. A wise man once said "were doing our homework to make sure we're prepared." This quote is in fact true. In life there will be many obstacles in front of you and some you might have trouble getting through. So this is why being prepared can help you make life easier. One of the main essentials to make life easier is something called homework. One reason why I think homework isn't a waste of time is because it teaches us how to become more organized. As we grow older, we become more organized because each year we learn how to organize our homework altogether and put it aside from other things so that it doesn't get lost. It also prepares us for high school because when we go, there would be a lot of homework from the different classes and we would also have to organize them so that they won't be submitted to the wrong teacher. Without homework, we wouldn't be as organized as we are right now. The more organized you are, the faster you get things done. It helps exercise your brain and refreshes it with brand new information you might need for after. Furthermore, I think homework isn't a waste of time is because we understand more of what we learned at school by doing it at home. It gives us a clearer understanding of that specific subject or lesson that we learned that day. When we go back to school the next day, we would already understand the previous lesson so we could go ahead instead of repeating it. It also builds up our knowledge in that subject. I'm sure that everyone would want a clear understanding first then move on, instead of moving on and not understanding anything. Homework improves your skills at a certain subject you might not be doing well at. For example, a student might be failing a subject, like language. This student can improve their grade by studying and reviewing homework to get a better understanding of things. Homework can give less stress and more confidence in class while doing work, especially tests. This is also a great way to get students more focused in school and tests. Instead of trying to beat level 10 on a game.
The last reason why I think homework isn't a waste of time is because it gives us a chance to show how responsible we are by doing it independently. We can demonstrate how good of a leader/role model we are by completing all of our homework on time. As a result of handing it in on time, we get a grade for homework completion. It also prepares us for the future when we start to do things on our own. It allows students to try and figure out on their own on how to work specific homework problems. It also shows teachers how the student understands each subject. It helps students become more independent when they got older and get a job so they don't have to rely on other people to help them.

"Success doesn't come to you, you go to it." "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." "The difference between school and life: In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson." All these quotes are about success and how homework is an essential key to life that can help you succeed. Becoming more responsible, organized, and getting a clear understanding, all the reasons why I think homework is not a waste of time. Homework may be boring, but there's a lot of good that you get from it. We work independently and we become more responsible when we finish homework on time. Wouldn't you want to be a good role model to all by showing your responsibility and organizational skills?

Moreover, homework isn't only wasting the student's time but the teachers time as well. By marking and grading homework, teachers are wasting their time. So teachers, please don't blame us the we wasted your time. Some people assume that homework is useful for teachers to watch student's progress but I firmly believe that homework is sent home to test the parents, not the children. I think that teachers can watch the student's progress in school better because teachers don't know that at home who did the homework, the parent, the student or the internet (Google)??????? People also think that homework helps parents to understand that the school holds high goals for students. But, I consider that school work is harder than homework and that means that parents can understand that the school holds higher goals than they think. Furthermore, homework becomes terrible if no one can help you. If no one can help you then you are doing work that you don’t understand, and if you don’t understand it what’s the point having the work that you can’t even do. I really, strongly believe that more kids would stay in school and have a better learning experience if they did not have the stress of homework.…

It is necessary for a person to want to get rid of a force controlling them. Also, it is commonly known that with growing up, homework should be expected in order to receive a full education. This meaning, every child for twelve years is supposed to make school a priority, and then get an occupation once they are an adult. While I accept this, every student should have the right to pursue other aptitudes which they will use late in life as a career. But when I think about it doing homework on weekdays does help my learning skills. I might not approve of it but I could never say it doesn’t help. I remember one year my fourth grade teacher telling me that homework is nothing more but extra practice. So in case you didn’t quit understand what you went over in school you get to practice it at home, or if you didn’t finish all the work given to you take it home. But besides that I don’t believe we should have homework. It just isn’t fair for us students after a long day at school. We should be able to come home and relax not worry about…
