Homelessness In A Homeless World: A Case Study
In Malaysia, there are still a lot of people who can be consider as homeless especially in big cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and Johor Bharu. There are many causes which may lead an individual becomes homeless either external or internal. However, it depends on how they can manage their life and try to living outside the homeless group.
According to the Homeless World Cup (2015), the last time a global survey was attempt by the United Nations in 2005 an estimated 100 million people were homeless worldwide and as many as 1 billion people lacked adequate housing. India is an example of country which having high rate of homeless that estimated to be the home to 78 million homeless people including 11 million street children (Business Standard, (2013). According to the 2011 census, there were 28% less homeless people from rural areas and 20% less homeless people living in the cities (Kumuda, 2014). Homeless issue also can be seen in developed country such as United States of America where in January 2013, there were 610,042 people experiencing homelessness while in Japan, there are about 25,000 people are homeless which 5,000 of whom live in Tokyo (International Network of Street Papers, 2006). …show more content…
Therefore, it is important to know what the main problems or factors and how it affects their life. There are a few situations can be identified as factors contributing to homelessness among society such as family problem, negative behaviour, policy negligence and company problem.
