A Home Away From Home
As we adventure out into the world we find new places that we would like to call “home” because we currently revisit that place time and time again. I found that place in Florida. I may not visit there every month, but when I do, I feel relaxed and at peace. The smells, sounds, people, atmosphere, and activities keep me coming back. There’s nothing better to me then the environment of everyday sunshine and the beach. My family and I have been going to Florida ever since I was a little girl.
I had my first experience riding in a plane and visiting Florida when I was 6 months old and have been going back to visit ever since. I have been to numerous places in Florida, but my “home away from home” typically when I visit is Apollo and Cocoa Beach. I have visited and enjoy spending time at Disney World, Sea World, Clearwater beach, Orlando and Key West in Florida with my family and friends. The beach is my favorite place where I can rest, relax and soak up the sunshine. To describe Florida in one word would be difficult, but if I had to, it would be alluring! You have the palm trees around you, sand in your toes, blistering Florida sun beaming on your skin, and tropical music playing from the tiki hut bars around you. What more could you ask for? There are more than enough activities to do in Florida to keep anyone coming back. My favorites are: boating, water skiing, surfing, shopping, sightseeing, partying, jet skiing, parasailing, meeting new people and spending time with family and friends. With all this liveliness, how could one ever get bored? The Florida environment is more than beautiful. The smell in the air of palm trees and the sound of the ocean is absolutely awesome. There are so many things to do and look at, like sitting on the porch of a beach condo late at night or taking a walk on the beach; the only sound you hear are the ocean waves brushing up onto the

There are many great places to go on vacation, but Disneyworld is one of the greatest places and vacation spots there will ever be. At first, vacationers fly into Orlando. Orlando is one of the busiest tourist locations in Florida, perhaps even busier than the infamous Miami beaches. This is because Orlando hosts many locations that cater to all kinds of people, whether they are children, men, women, adults, senior citizens, or tourists. Orlando has many theme parks, but Disneyworld has four parks in it. It has Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. And this is the reason why Disneyworld is the best place for vacation.…

It's the happiest place on earth and has every attraction imaginable from rides and water parks to dining and shopping. Where am I talking about? Disney world of course! According to Walt Disney World Media Relations, Disney World is the number one vacation spot in the entire world and attracts people of all different ages and cultures. I have personally been to Disney World well over twenty times, which is not always a good thing, especially when you are being forced to go with your family and miss spring break at the beach with your friends! However, I do have to admit that even on that particular trip, which I pleaded desperately not to go on, my family and I had a wonderful time together. Disney World is a wonderful…

Everyday I can imagine the beach right in front on me. I look out into the ocean from my hotel deck sitting in a chair with the air breezing through my face. I let my eyes absorb some rays on the beautiful summer day. Sitting in a chair, I see children building sand castles, people skiing,…

Our plan was to stay in this meager town called Usvalde. As we drove through city after city, it became apparent that the world around us was changing. As each city brought new surroundings, our anticipation builds, and our dream vacation seemed closer and closer. Arriving into San Antonio we begun to notice changes. The trees appeared to be touchable, offering soft, plush leaves which swayed in the breeze. The grass actually invited us to share its place rather than scare us away with mounds of intruding fire ants. We were now out of San Antonio and entering a rural area. A weary, faded, green sign on the side of the road read “Usvalde, 20 miles”. Leaving the valley, where we only have flatlands, and entering an area where we are suddenly surrounded by hills of green and blue are by far the most awakening moments. This rural area offered amazing scenery with majestic hills and checkerboard farmlands. As we descended through the curves and winds of the middle region of Texas, our get-away “island” was very close. After a long, tiring drive, we were almost there.…

The first reason I love going to New Jersey is because a lot of family members live there. Over half of my family lives in New Jersey. When I visit, my cousins and I laugh and play all day and night. My uncles and aunts take me to the boardwalk where we ride tall, long roller coasters. We devour juicy caramel-covered apples and foot-long hot dogs. My family is fun to be with.…

Florida is one of the best spot to spend your vacation for several reasons. First of all, Florida has very beautiful beaches. For example, Clearwater Beach has a white sandy beach, and has clear water to enjoy swimming. In Clearwater Beach you can play volleyball, rent fishing boats, and many other things. Another beach in Florida is Sand Key Beach. It has playground equipment, and it has kayak and bicycle rentals. The second reason to spend your vacation in Florida is that Florida has a lot of amusement parks. For instance, Bush Gardens in Tampa have a theater and they do shows on Halloween. Florida also has Disneyland in Orlando, which is the most popular amusement park in the whole world. It has all the cartoon characters, and you can meet them face to face and take pictures with them. As soon as you get to Disneyland, you can go to the Disney hotel and rent a room for couple days. Third, Florida has nice parks for picnics. For example, Eagle Lake Park is in Clearwater. This park offers many activities including: lighted baseball, softball, basketball, and football. It also has picnic shelter. Largo Central Park is another park in Florida where you can go and enjoy your picnic. In conclusion, Florida is a good place to spend your vacation because of the beaches, amusement parks, and parks for picnics. You can enjoy your vacation and get enough fun and rest before you come back to your…

I ask myself every day, "What is it that got me to apply to this university?" I had no answer at all. Was it because of parents? No. Was it my only option? No. Fate simply got me here..…
