Sitting in a large theater in front a giant screen with the light off is a wonderful experience that we repeat constant when seeing a movie because it disconnect for a moment of our reality. The American cinema is a great medium with the power to spread culture and ideas and influence in our behavior, thinking and trends. This is the way that it connects with the American Experience. In the American Cinema there are seven giant media corporations that make Hollywood movies (including Viacom Paramount, Disney, Sony-Trista-Columbia, Time Warner-AOL, News Corp-20th Century-Fox, NBC Universal). And also need to mention Independent films – these regularly made by minority group filmmakers. Based in his technology this industry has the power to develop content and influence in our society through the images that projected. These images design movies with a thematic specific as action, comedy or drama. …show more content…
Armaza 2 Is important stand out that the cinema industry reflects what are society is living. Before, the main protagonists aren’t longer white persons, heroes or villains. Now, the main character in the films have different characteristics as the following stories The Lord of the Rings (2001-2003) through Pirates of the Caribbean movies (2003, 2007) series where the villains and monsters were the protagonist. To understand how the cinema influence in our behavior is important taking into account the message o viewpoint of the film. Many times the movie could promote in the people rejection or approval face a particular event. The movie Crash (2004) where the racism and sexism manifested through the drama could be a great example. Otherwise, the neighboring states of Louisiana and New Mexico or other emerging film states, like Georgia and Kentucky will continue to outplay Texas in attracting movie producers. However, Texas could potentially step up and become a major participant in incentivizing the production of film in the nation.
