Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Cancer of the lymphatic system can be primary and secondary. Lymphoma is a form of cancer that affects the immune system especially the white blood cells. It is generally considered as either Hodgkin’s lymphoma or non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Hodgkin’s lymphoma is charactherised by a particular cell called Reed-Sternberg cell which can be seen under the microscope. It is mainly associated with a past infection know as Epstein-Barr Virus and generally does not cause pain. In Hodgkin’s lymphoma, cells grow abnormally and spread beyond the lymphatic system.
