Here is a list of assumptions I will be making about both hockey and soccer.
Assumptions:
Both hockey and soccer goalkeepers will be highly trained professional athletes and will have roughly the same build, reaction times and movement speeds.
Both penalty shooters will be able to propel the ball at the average striking speed consistently.
Both penalty shooters will be able to accurately hit the ball towards the desired position in the goal.
There will be minimal effect from wind or the magnus effect, as the ball is flying over a such a short distance that there will be little deviation.
The primary data gathered will reflect the friction force acting on the balls in a consistent manner.
The goalkeeper will not ‘guess’ where the striker will kick, but react based on seeing the ball. (Normally the goalkeepers ‘guess’ where the ball will go and jump preemptively, leaving the chance of scoring down to chance)
The Players
The the research gathered on the goalkeeper can be shown in the following table. (it is assumed the goalkeepers have similar builds)(Moghadam, Azarbayjani and Sadeghi, 2012),(Hunter,

Shooting, skating, and goaltending. These are all 3 things that have science behind them in the game of hockey. The slap shot is the hardest shot that a player has to use. What makes a slap shot go so fast. A good slap shot is the result of weight transfer. The weight transfers from the legs to the core to the shoulder down to the arms and then to the stick in the hands. The player has to hit the ice just before the puck. This causes the stick to arch back. Then when the stick makes contact with the puck the part of the stick that was arched releases all of its stored energy on the puck and this causes the puck to go flying. To get more accuracy on the shot the player must flick his/her wrist at the end of motion. The slap shot is an example…

The soccer goalkeeper is one of the most forgotten and unappreciated positions in the sport. The majority of people are afraid to play it or watch their kids play it; the few who do decide it is their spot, are marked off and placed in the goal. With youth players, it is usually the one or two kids that do not completely hate goal that end up being put there. This lack of interest and focus on the position is why creating an opportunity that solely focuses on the goalkeeper is needed among youth soccer clubs. These opportunities will give many young players a chance to get a full grasp on their feelings for the position, may it be love or hate. Clinics also provide an easy way…

On the second trial of my experiment I had made 50% of my shots on the net (or 6 of the 12 shots.) This day I did improve. I had realized that you have better accuracy if you have your top hand more towards the top of the shaft and my bottom hand at the bottom of the shaft. This may be just a coincidence, but according to my hypothesis I had stated that I felt like when your top hand is near the top, and when your bottom hand is at the bottom you have the most accuracy with your shot.…
