Hockey 16 Comparison
Comparing and Contrasting Madden 16 and NHL 16 EA Sports is the dominant electronic sports game publisher. With over two decades of experience, EA Sports delivers yearly installments of Madden, an American football simulator, as well as NHL, an American hockey simulator. These video games are released on all of the major platforms, but for the sake of this essay, the PlayStation 4 versions of these games will be compared and contrasted. Aspects of these games that will be analyzed include the online, player vs. player game modes, the amount of game modes offered, and the ease of use to novice players. The first aspect of Madden 16 and NHL 16 that will be compared is the online, player vs. player game modes. Both of these franchises are heralded in the way they pit people from all across the world against each other in a hyper-realistic match between the virtual representations of two real-world teams. Both Madden 16 and NHL 16 are similar in that their online, player vs. player environments operate seamlessly and with the same options available to users. Each game also offers new game modes, with some game modes being exclusive to each game. The games differ in that NHL 16 is more welcoming and accessible to new players, although each game does have some sort of mode of new and old player alike.
