Hitler Vs. Stalin
During the time of World War II period in the 1900s, two rulers from two great nations rose to power. They are Hitler from the Nazi Germany and Stalin from the Soviet Union. Both of the two leaders share some similarities in their rule, for example they had total control of their countries. However, there are few differences between them as well. By examining the historical events, we can see that how Hitler and Stalin led Germany and Soviet Union to the top of world stage.
Hitler rose to power in Germany while Stalin rose to power in the Soviet Union in 1920s, although the Soviet Union under Stalin stayed longer than Hitler’s Nazi Germany. Both Stalin and Hitler are extreme dictators and they established totalitarian states. They were both skilled users of propaganda and it helped them to gain supports and power quickly. They both have ambition to make their countries powerful in the world. Once Hitler was in power and had the total control of Germany, he destroyed the socialists and Communists, and dis banded other political parties. Germany became a one-party state and Hitler became head of Nazi party. Hitler was a harsh ruler that he exterminated all Jews in Germany. Stalin was harsh too that he used his force to gain power.
Stalin achieved his goal in a different way compare to Hitler’s. The Soviet Union under Stalin is a communist nation. Therefore, the economy system in Soviet Union was highly controlled by government and it was planned for the next five years according to Stalin’s Five-year Plan. Unlike communism, Hitler’s Nazi Germany had a capitalism economy system, also know as free economy. Under this system, small business and private business are allowed to exist in the nation. Hitler also solved many poverty, inflation, and unemployment issues caused by the reparation through capitalist economy.
