Osbert’s Second Semester History Exam Study Guide

Finally, the history of countries in Asia have fit together like a jigsaw puzzle! Remember that this study guide should be used for review; look at your own notes first. For the short answer responses, it should be you connecting to the information and adding insight to it with an argument, not memorizing the facts of a study guide. That’s the entire point of history. Feel free to ask any questions! Good luck!

A couple things to keep in mind: everything we cover in class can be considered fair game for the tests; review with a friend; look at your notes from class, Google Earth, and your timeline to help you orient yourself with what we have covered; look at the primary sources we read during class: how do they help us understand a period of time?

    Although the different parts of Southeast Asia have some similarities in cultures and values, I only agree to a limited extend that Southeast Asia is a single geographical, historical and cultural unit. Unit, by the very definition of the word, refers to a single, complete and undivided whole.
