Hispanic Culture Influence On Academic Development
Being raised in a Hispanic household has greatly influenced my academic development throughout all my life.

I have felt that being a part of the Hispanic community gives the right for others to think less of me or presume that I can not achieve my aspirations.

Either through the sarcastic remarks when I mention that I would like to one day be an engineer or the common shock of others knowing I have all A’s on my report card, I have been profiled to be subpar because of my ethnicity.

Although these actions do hurt, I use these remarks to fuel my desire to be greater than many people’s substandard belief of Hispanics.

My parents constantly remind me of how they once were thought to never achieve their goals and their success reminds
