Hinduism And Buddhism Similarities
The religions Hinduism and Buddhism are connected in many ways. They have encountered and interacted in many different ways and have had a long and complicated relationship. They have many things in common but they also have their slight differences. In my essay I will be analyzing and explaining these religions and how they have impacted and affected each other.
To begin with, Hinduism and Buddhism were both started in India and they both follow the principle that you will be reincarnated until you reach enlightenment/Nirvana. The basic practices of Buddhism are the Threefold Training: Morality, Concentration, and Wisdom. Judaism believes their god is in everything and everything is god, they believe in many gods, but realize that they all come from Atman. The main goal of each religion is to break the cycle of death and rebirth through enlightenment. Both religions believe in doing no harm to all living things and that death is inevitable and inescapable aspect of life.

The Buddha was born into a Hindu family, and some Hindu’s believe that it’s just an off shoot of Hinduism and the Buddha was a part of the Hindu pantheon, a view that is not accepted by many Buddhists. It is widely accepted that Buddhism became so popular because it released people from the oppression of tradition and orthodoxy of Hinduism. The teachings of the Buddha created hope and aspiration for those who had otherwise no hope of salvation and freedom of choice in a society that was dominated by a caste system, predominance of ritual from worship and the exclusive status of the privileged classes which the vedic religion upheld as inviolable and indisputable. long ago
