Class Assessment Assignment

If I were the teacher, I would teach the class similarly to the way you teach us. The most

interesting assignment that comes to mind is the one where we researched different topics

based on the novel A Tale of Two Cities. I would like more hands-on approaches in learning and

open discussions to happen in class.

I understand the method you use to teach our class. It is very effective for me. I think

other students would appreciate a more hands-on approach to learning. I would probably make

students do a lot of research on different parts of English of their choice, then have them present

what they have learned and discovered to the class. This would give the students a chance to

compare notes and ideas with others. It will also give them a sense of leadership and give them a

chance to experience what many teachers experience when lecturing/explaining ideas to a class.

The assignment I found most interesting was the one where we were in groups and

researching different topics from the novel A Tale of Two Cities. After we finished our research,

we presented our findings to the class. I liked this because it gave us a chance to share our ideas

and conclusions and help others understand what we have learned. This assignment also helped

me understand the setting of the novel better than I would of if I read it without research.

I also enjoy the grammar and punctuation assignments; they help me become a better speaker

and writer. They also let me know that just speaking English is not enough, you have to

recognize the mechanics of it all. The assignments help me acknowledge my errors and correct

them. I believe that even when I am in college, I will use notes from this class as a resource.

English is my favorite subject, so I can honestly say not one assignment sticks out as

the least interesting.

Back when I was in high school I took all four years of an English literature course because it was just a required course for me take in order for me to graduate. My high teachers always tell me that I will be doing a bunch of reading and writing when I go off to college. I was always a math and science person. I came from a family background when they deal with numbers and logical reasoning. English was not my worst subject but it is not enough for me to care for the subject.…

Improvement ideas include setting a leadership schedule the first week of class, and increased encouragement of team member participation. Leadership improvement would also be beneficial as the leader must support the team and rally them for obtaining the best possible outcome, they must also be careful not to bully them or speak to them as a superior but as a peer.…

The beginning of course English 101 was challenging and stressful, this class introduced me to many different types of paper topics that I never knew existed. There are so many things that come to play when it comes to writing, from grammar to punctuation mechanics, etc. Before this class I was not aware of any writing process and all of the different types of essays and so I felt overwhelmed every time I had to write about a new topic. I struggled with gathering my thought and placing them on paper.…

I have chosen AP Literature and Composition as my next English course because I consider it to be a challenge and I expect myself to overcome it. I was recommended into this class by Ms.Dunlap after I completed 11th Grade Honors English so I decided to let it play out; to get the experience for the class. I tell myself to never give in even when the going gets rough. Another reason I have decided to take this course is because of the impact it has on your transcript. It is Advanced Placement so I like to think of it as an introductory class that will reveal what is expected of a student in an English college course. From this course, I hope to learn how to analyze works of fiction and interpret them using my own understanding. It will…

After reading about settings and about the point of views my eyes were open to new things that I never would have thought about before. There are many things that you would ever stop to think about and take the time to understand if you never knew anything about the setting and the point of view. The setting, point of view, and how a book it written is what makes a reader interested. That is why people tend to like book that have a setting that they can relate to and a point of view that they really lets them see how things would really happen.…

On the one hand, many students find that students are very confused after graduation. They do not know what to do after graduation, or they do not have a clear purpose of learning English. This is why the majority of English majors have not been able to do some jobs related to English. Only a small number of students have a clear goal, and they hope that their future work can be related to English, and they are interested in English. On the other hand, students show their lack of interests toward some English courses at the university, which most claim to be English Newspapers Reading , the History of English and American Literature, the Appreciation of Short Stories and so on. Students say that most of these courses are for candidates, they had to get credit so that they could graduate. But after the end of a semester, students have no impression on the content of these courses. The reason why students are not satisfied with the course is that the teaching contents of these courses are boring, and some teachers always teach in a tedious way. Meanwhile, Educational courses are focused on theory only and are lack of practice. Students are instilled in a large quantity of theoretical knowledge about English, covering a wide range of contacts with a lot of English-related disciplines. But in fact these classes which are seemed noble do not have much help for students. Students believe that the five curriculums offered by the…
