High School Diet Analysis
Diet 1

I had a healthy lifestyle in High School while being apart of the wrestling team.

As part of my diet I would eat bananas, peanuts, multi-vitamins and much more to stay in my

weight class. While trying to avoid gaining any weight before a match or competition. After a

while I had developed a healthy lifestyle while participating in the sport I enjoyed. After the

season would end, I would find ways to stay active. For example, I would participate in dance or

any other extracurricular activity that involved some sort of exercise. That way, when the

off-season tournaments would start I would have my cardio and physical build still ready for the

seasonal tournaments. However not everything good last’s forever. After

overly full and overweight. After looking at myself in the mirror and feeling miserable, I knew

something had to change. First thing I did was cut all the junk food out of my life and also work

on my mental health. I started applying for a new job and ended up landing a great sales job at

Costco. That eliminated most of the stress and I was happy to know that I will be walking around

and greeting people like I use to when I worked at Target. This made me think about chapter one

and why it was important for me to take charge of my health and well being. Which would be an

example of Interpersonal and Social Wellness. After I completed that step I focused on my

dieting. I know one of the habits I had was being too tired to cook after I got home. After some

brief research I invested in a rice cooker and steamer for myself. All I have to do is add rice and

steam my chicken or any vegetables. After a while I started noticing my waist line going back

A grocery store is probably not the first place most people associate with entertaining stories, but in my family, there have been quite a few tales that revolve around our local Kroger. For instance, hearing my sister, Mary Jean, recount the loss of her beloved parking space when Kroger built their gas station has been the cause of much hilarity. Approximately two years ago, Mary Jean and I went to Kroger for just a few items, and found the place teeming with other shoppers. The holidays were approaching, so the lines were four or five shoppers long and more than a few of them had carts that were almost overflowing. The overhead lights were noticeably bright, compared to the overcast sky outside, and all…

I had been overweight since my early teens, as time passed it continued to worsen. at the age of 15 I was on the brink of obesity; I had to decide a change in my life. My life had consisted of school and video games; these combined had led me to an unhealthy lifestyle. I had dedicated years into my video game hobby, but this was the least active of my time. My hobby had to go, a new hobby had emerged: bodybuilding. Bodybuilding had given me a satisfaction that my previous hobby did not give, the satisfaction of working; that patience and efforts lead to greater satisfaction than momentary things like video…

The three-day diet analysis was interesting. There were many positive attributes to it and definitely negative ones. Over the course of the three days, which were Friday, Saturday and Sunday: and figured this would give a good depiction of what I was consuming on a regular basis. In some places I was consuming more than I should be and in some I was consuming less than I should be. There were also those places were I was getting just the right amount. It is so interesting to me to be able to find out what I am consuming and how I am consuming it. Being an active male, it was most interesting of what I ate, what my average of the three days were, and the plan on how I would correct the way I eat to make it a more healthier lifestyle.…

Walking into work I smell the aromas of a nursing home. I hear the sounds of wheel chairs and walkers scraping against the hard wood surface. As I walk to station one, I stop by the break room to store my food. The room is full of people charting the prior shift. Walking out of the room, I continue to station one. Finding the cork board with the neon green paper, I see what hall I am working. There is only my name and one other on spring hall. I know it is going to be a rough night; but at the end, I will remember my goal, which is helping others.…

My first focus was, targeting the things that I’d heard people say, exercise couldn’t change. I started looking at who was saying it couldn’t be done. My first thought was, they gave up too quick. That’s the one thing that I didn’t want to do! I did it like that because, after hearing it so much, they almost had me believing the flaws were unchangeable. Something in me kept telling me to…

As a child I would always place myself in the overweight category. I generally found it very difficult to eat real food I would always find myself snacking away on junk food when I was hungry. I recognized I had a problem with my weight at the age of 16. At the age of 14 I was actively participating in sporting activities and played rugby league for several years. My grandma Moomoo would pick me up from school in her old beat up white 92 Ford Explorer, complete with the cow spotted steering wheel cover that I thought fit her nickname perfectly. When I heard the clanging of metal from the school bell at 3 o’clock, I would hop in Moomoo’s car like Luke from Dukes of Hazzard. We would then head to the nearest burger joint to grab a cheeseburger and a Coca Cola. These after school cheeseburgers became routine for us and became an almost everyday activity I could look forward to when getting the midday munchies. I saw absolutely nothing wrong this and soon enough I was packing on the pounds. It became a problem when my parents intervened, and that's when they decided it was time to cut down on the happy meals and get me in shape. The fast food was eliminated which I thought sucked at the time, but I still kept gaining weight for some reason. My family chalked it up as my metabolism, and I was still a…
