Thesis Statement: Although adding 2 more years to the basic 10 year education system of the Philippines will cost the poorest Filipinos, imposing the 12 year education plan will give more job opportunities to students, make more globally competitive students and maximize their time on choosing their career base on ability.
Outline:
I. Introduction: A. The total percentage of college students who graduated in the Philippines in the year 2005 which are unemployed. B. The background of K-12 education plan. C. Although adding 2 more years to the basic 10 year education system of the Philippines will cost the poorest Filipinos, imposing the 12 year education plan will give more job opportunities to students, make more globally competitive students and maximize their time on choosing their career base on ability. II. Body: Opposition A. Allowable Points 1. K-12 will cost the poorest Filipinos. 2. K-12 will add burden to teachers. 3. K-12 will be too much for the budget of the government B. Reply to Unallowable Points 1. K-12 will give more job opportunities to high school graduates. 2. K-12 will make more globally competitive Filipino students. 3. K-12 will maximize their time on choosing their career base on their ability. III. Body: Position A. Proof that K-12 will give more job opportunities to high school graduates. 1. Adding of 2 more years to the 10 year education system of the Philippines will make a student graduate at the age of 18. Thus, making the high school graduates to get job right after high school. 2. In other countries, college students graduate at the age of 22 or older, making the age required for jobs to be at 22 or older. Thus making
