high performance team AUSTRALIAN CRICKET TEAM- A High Performance Team

It’s a herculean task to build a high performance team, infact it takes a lot of hard work and skill, to blend the different personalities, abilities, and agendas into a cohesive unit driving them to work for a common goal. A visionary leader is one who makes real difference, who propels a good team into a great one. Australian cricket team is the most successful team in the cricket history reason being the team always had a great leader in different era. As a team Australians are very disciplined ,systematic in their approach,that’s one prime reason for their dominance in world cricket. Australia have made record six World Cup final appearances and have won the World Cup a record four times in total; 1987 Cricket World Cup, 1999 Cricket World Cup, 2003 Cricket World Cup and 2007 Cricket World Cup.

The Australian team is class apart and there are many reasons for them being a high performance team over these number of years. Regardless, these are key steps in building up a high performing team.Some of these are listed below:-

1. Developing a diverse team Utilise people who have different strengths,make them work as a cohesive unit The more diverse the team, the more they are likely to be strong in achieving the whole range of thinking, action and people orientated tasks for a successful outcome. Motivation is likely to remain consistently high where team members can focus the majority of their work in areas they enjoy.

2. Generate the team purpose or goals Facilitate the group to ensure clarity and accountability to the team’s purpose so that the team are clear of what success looks like and are empowered to achieve it. Focus the team on achieving results by setting explicit goals.

3. Develop crucial processes Developing critical processes will ensure the team have the vital framework to achieve their goals, and break
