This film brings out various themes like religion, morality, freedom. The theme of religion as depicted in the film relates well with issues affecting religion in the 21st century. We often hear of complaints about sexual molestation within the church, just like the bishop forces himself on the young woman in the movie. The church has also in one way or another been involved with unethical practices especially in matters finance. In Kenya, for instance, politicians have a tendency of making huge donations into religious organizations. This buys them approval in society and as such get away with their stolen wealth. The morality of self-interest perpetuated by government in the film is akin to the present-day scenarios where those in power lies

He carried out his schemes against the government in a way that made him easily believable. His ability to operate incognito was partially the reason he succeeded. His choice of words was appropriate and appeared to understand well the system he was fighting. Evey on the other hand, played her part well especially when she kept changing her clothes to fit the occasion.

Hero. V’s power and ability to accomplish mission corresponds to that of the Hero as portrayed in page 36 of our textbook. He rescues Evey from the men who wanted to rape her. He bombed the city and ably eluded the security apparatus for a long time.
The power of numbers. Letter V can be read as number 5. This number seems to carry a lot of symbolism and hence its use is not in vain. We learn that the main character V was once in jail number five. The explosions were also done on the 5th.

The location of the bombing is in front of the symbol of justice. This is a nonfiction setting since the location does exist. This is important is giving the film a touch of realness since it is a known and verifiable location.

One of the subjects effectively tackled in the movie is that of politics and/or governance. V’s mission is to bring down the unjust government by causing disturbance and destruction. Apart from using his destructive means, he uses broadcast messages to highlight the ills of the system and urges people to ‘free’ themselves from injustices. But V also appears to be driven by the motive of revenge against the system for wrongs done to him. It is very interesting how the issues featured in the film reflect the issues people face in real life.
