Heroism: Why Heroes Are Important By Scott Labarge
I plan to write my Unit 3 essay on Heroism: Why Heroes are Important by Scott LaBarge. This particular essay intrigued me as I searched for who my hero was. Although my essay had its strength and weak areas, it has fulfilled its purpose by defining and explaining the thesis. Creating my thesis took a while. I read the essay repeatedly while I took detailed notes. Each time, new information was found. I examined the essay’s contextual issues and rhetorical strategies in search for the purpose. This is how I created my thesis. I further developed and explained my thesis by dividing my paper up into six to seven categories: background information, intended original audience, pathos, logos, ethos, kairos, and purpose.
