Helpful Tips for Effective Communication with Virtual Teams

When communicating with virtual teams, you can use a vast variety of technologies available. Some of them are: 1. E-mail and Voice Mail 2. Teleconferencing 3. Video conferencing 4. Web meeting E-mail and Voice Mail: When you use this technology, you need to keep your message that you are communicating as brief as possible and use proper etiquette. This particular technology is best for spreading the documents or information to the virtual team members. This disadvantage of this technology is, you cannot use this when you want to communicate vast information of data to the remote team members. Teleconferencing: When using this technology, one needs to make sure that they are dealing with more than two team members in a virtual team. This technology is best for discussing the issues that each and every team member has and talking about the documents that were shared in the past sessions. The advantages of this technology are: There are clear and concise outcomes, every team member at a remote location are being heard by the management on the other side and can also hear what they say, the interaction of the team members stay on track and all the team members are involved in the conference. Videoconferencing: This technology is used when the team members are unable to meet in person or when you are initially introducing to a team at a remote location or conducting interviews and meetings. The advantages of this technology are similar to teleconferencing. However, there is one more advantage with this technology, that is, the team members can see and hear the other team member at the remote location. Web Meeting: This technology can be used when you want to spread graphical content to your team members on-site or virtual. You can also transmit live video, using streaming, to your team members. The advantage of this technology
