Benefits of Living a Healthy Life Did you know on average a person who lives a healthy life can out live a person who doesn’t by as much as 10 years? My mom, who works for the American Dairy Association, told me this fact and I was surprised. Living a healthy life is such an easy way to extend your life. My mom always encourages me to stay active and eat healthy because of the important benefits. People are always saying how important it is to stay healthy and now I’m curious about the benefits of all this. After researching the topic and interviewing my mom I learned the most important benefits of living a healthy life are disease prevention, better mental health, and decreased obesity. I always knew it was important to eat healthy and exercise as much as possible. I became interested in finding out the benefits because my mom works for a business where the whole campaign I trying to get people to eat healthy and stay active. This business is called the American Dairy Association, also known as “Got Milk” or “Fuel up to Play 360”. For my moms jobs she shows people healthy alternatives for unhealthy food and easy ways to stay active. I chose to write my research paper on this topic because I learned it’s so easy to maintain a healthy lifestyle and the benefits are life changing. For example, you don’t need to spend a bunch of money on special healthy foods or a gym membership. You can simply eat some vegetables and use the stairs instead of an elevator, or walk somewhere instead of driving. Little actions like this can help your body fight off and prevent diseases, make you happier, and help decrease your obesity or get rid of unwanted body fat. Eating healthy and exercising can help you prevent diseases. For example, being active keeps blood flowing smoothly, which decreases the rate of cardiovascular diseases. Also, being “in shape” and healthy helps prevent stroke, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, depression, and certain types of cancer and

Exercise increases the metabolism, rids the body of harmful toxins, and is important to keep the human body in good shape. As people age their metabolism slows, so maintaining energy balance requires moving more and eating less.
