Healthcare Reimbursement
The federal government sponsors several healthcare programs that cover a range of citizens. These programs include the Medicaid, Indian health services and Tricare. Medicaid provides coverage for the low income demographic and those with limited financial resources. The regulations for Medicaid will vary from state to state while Medicare coverage is the same in all states. Tricare is the healthcare program provided to the military and their families. The Indian Health Services program is an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services and provides services for Native Americans and Alaskan Natives. Under IHS, beneficiaries receive preventive healthcare services, primary medical services, community health services, substance abuse treatment services, and rehabilitative services (Johns 306).

Tricare- is a healthcare program for active-duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, retirees, their families, survivors, and certain former spouses. TRICARE offers three options: TRICARE Prime, TRICARE Extra, and TRICARE Standard. (Johns, 305)

The American Indians and Alaska natives served by the IHS receive preventive healthcare services, primary medical services (hospital and ambulatory care), community health services, substance abuse treatment services, and rehabilitative services.
