The role of healthcare assistant in a hospital (non-professional)
Healthcare assistants work in hospital and may be in community settings under the supervision of a trained healthcare professional. The role can be diverse dependent upon the area in which the person is working because they might work along with nurses or midwives in parenthood services. Healthcare assistants also helps with the day-to-day care of patients, whichever in hospitals or in patients’ own homes.
The care providers must make sure that care workers are qualified in medicines administration before these essential roles can be complete. They should also have a system to frequently assess the ability of care staff in their role. Healthcare assistants also identified as support workers, nursing assistants and nursing auxiliaries. …show more content…
However, there might be times where it would be improved for a qualified care worker to given such Page 5 of 6 medicines rather than wait for a registered nurse, or doctor to give such significant treatment. The important matters to consider are:
• The person`s agreements to a care worker giving this treatment
• The care workers agree and are qualified to do this role
•they should have clear roles and responsibilities that are agreed by all those involved in providing
