Health Risks Mobile Phone
Mobile phones are becoming very popular in today’s society, in fact over 75% of people own a cell phone and many users are unaware of the potential risks involved in using these devices, these are mainly long term risks that could emerge from constant use of mobile phones such as eye strain, neck strain and in extreme cases can potentially cause cancer.
A serious potential risk that can be increased from the constant use of mobile phones in the long term is cancer. This is caused by radiation as radio waves are received and sent by mobile phones which transmits in all directions to find the nearest base station, this means that radio waves (energy) are absorbed by your body which can raise your body temperature therefore frequent use of making phone calls and texts, in the long term, can increase the chances of developing cancer. There is not solution to decrease the risk of this happening other than simply stop using a mobile phone which is unlikely as technology continues to advance and spread which makes everyone surrounded by them.
Potential risks that can be developed from the constant use of mobile phones are sleeping disorders. Many users of a mobile device use them before going to sleep this makes them more likely to have difficulties going to sleep than those who put their phone away early. Also it is common to be woken up my texts and phone calls which affect their sleep. The risk of developing any type of sleeping disorder can be reduced if these users don’t use their mobile phones before going to bed and putting their phone on silent or airplane mode so that texts and phone calls are not alerted which should not wake them up.
Risks that can be increased from the use of mobile phones are accidents. Many users use their mobile phones while driving. The number of car accidents is likely to increase if the driver is using their mobile phones to text or make a call therefore putting them in danger.
