I clearly was in shock when I watched the video. I was aware of the disconnect between the patient and health staff, and the additional need for education. But I would of never thought the correlation between health literacy and reading literacy was such issue until now. I was under the assumption that the average American is able to read and comprehend at a high school level or higher. It was not until watching the video, reading the executive summary and the chapter 12 that I realized my assumptions is total
