Health Care Coordinator Essay
The roles and day-to-day duties of an average care coordinator are every day clerical work, admitting and discharging patients, ordering medical and office supplies as needed, etc. Although most of the work is clerical, healthcare coordinators do share face-to-face moments with patients mainly to retrieve insurance information and or any documentation needed to process any paper work correctly and timely. Care coordinators are also known to schedule examining, surgical, and other procedures. They also provide help to patience in difficult situations. Patience are under enough stress as it is, as heath care professionals it is part of the job to make them understand everything that pertains need to get better.
The requirements to become a healthcare coordinator is to have your bachelors preferably in public healthcare science, but as long as you get certified through a institution with proper accreditations Kaplan University being one of them, you should be fine. There are other methods to get into this position like programs just to get a certificate in this field but a bachelor’s degree will give you better chances. My top three attributes were social, artistic, and investigative. With that being said, I still believe I can be a positive impact in this field. I believe me being investigative will arouse the interest in making the patients medical issues my own to provide them with the health care I would want for myself. My social side will be easier for patients to feel comfortable with me. My artistic side will provide me with a universal view with patients. Clerical work is needed and isn’t fun, but we aren’t in the business for fun. We are in this to make lives better and easier to go through while in are
