LEGISLATIONS RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY
THIS IS COVERED BY THE HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK ACT 1974 (HASAWA) THIS ACT IS LIKE AN UMBRELLA THAT IS UPDATED AND THE LEGISLATIONS AROUND IT CONSIST: * MANUAL HANDLING OPERATIONS REGULATIONS 1992 (AMENDED 2002) * CONTROL OF SUBSTANCES HAZARDOUS TO HEALTH REGULATIONS 2002 (COSHH) * REPORTING OF INJURIES, DISEASES AND DANGEROUS OCCURRANCES REGULATIONS 1995 (RIDDOR) (AMENDED 2008) * HEALTH AND SAFETY FIRST AID REGULATIONS 1981 * MANAGMENT OF HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK REGULATIONS 1999
THERE ARE PRINCIPLES FOR SAFE MOVING AND HANDLING BY FOLLOWING THEM IT PROTECTS THOSE IN THE SOCIAL CARE SETTING FROM INJURY AND HARM. THIS WILL ALSO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY AND IT WILL MAKE YOU LOOK AND IDENIFY WHETHER IS A HAZARD OR A RISK HAPPING, IT ALSO GIVES YOU THE OPPORTUITY FOR ALTERNATIVE WORKING PRACTICES THIS COULD BE TRAINED FOR THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF MOVING AND HANDLING AIDS.WHEN MOVING SOMEONE/SOMETHING ADDITIONAL SUPPORT MAYBE NECESSARY, AS THE AREA COULD BE CRAMPED OR THE LOAD COULD BE HEAVY OR UNSTABLE. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR MOVING AND HANDLING THAT ALL TASKS ARE CARRIED OUT WHEN SPECIALIST TRAINING HAS BEEN TAKEN AS THIS COMPLYS WITH THE LEGISLATIONS AND TO MINIMISE ANY INJURY TO ONES SELF OR OTHERS THIS IS TO SAFEGAURD YOUR OWN AND OTHERS HEALTH AND SAFETY AND TO APPLY AGREED WORKING PRACTICES ALSO TO USE EQUIPMENT CORRECTLY. THE TRAINING IS SO THAT YOU UNDERSTAND INDIVIDUALS NEEDS AND PREFERANCES AND TO MEET THE INDIVIDUALS NEEDS AND REFERANCES. THERE COULD BE CONSEQUENCES IF YOU DONT FOLLOW AN INDIVIDUALS CARE PAN OR FULLY ENGAGING WITH THEM WHEN MOVING AND HADLING, THESE COULD BE THAT YOU ARE NOT COMPLYING WITH LEGISLATION, POLICY AND PROCEDURES WITHIN THE WORK PLACE SO YOU MAY NOT BE MEETING THE INDIVIDUALS NEEDS/ PREFERENCES. YOU WILL
