Communication is exchanging of information and ideas from one individual to another. The sender must transmit information to the receiver. Effective communication occurs only when the receiver clearly understands the transmitted information. Only a small part of communication is verbal which is complicated when you are communicating with others as what you are saying will mean perfect sense to you but it may be interpreted to mean something completely different.Good communication is important. It can help someone to understand what another person is saying. It also means that they can express their own needs and concerns. When taking place in communication people often take part in discussions. Some of these discussions may be difficult and emotional. Communication is important and can be positive if handled well. It can also be hurtful, depending on how it is done and the words that are used. It needs to be open and sensitive, as well as appropriate to the situation. In a health & social care setting it is essential to have good communication skills not only to effectively understand others and get things done efficiently, but also you have to build a trusting relationship which will increase client satisfactory and make sure that they are at ease, this is because you might be dealing with vulnerable people, the elderly or people with learning difficulties.A health care setting example for important communication may be between a receptionist and a hospital and a patient. If the receptionist portrays a rude and bad mannered attitude toward the service user, it will not only make the client feel unwelcome, unimportant and many other negative emotions, but it will also give a bad impression about the service as a whole and may make the service user reconsider or hesitate using that same service again.Instead, communicating with a friendly and positive attitude will however make the service user feel more catered to and…

When I go into a client’s house on a morning I get out clean clothes for that day for the client to put on, as I get the clothes out I check that the clothes are in good condition and that the clothes are the right size for the client. I recently went to dress the client, I went to put some trousers on the client but the trousers were too small so I explained to the client that these weren’t suitable as she would be uncomfortable all day so I looked for a bigger pair of trousers for the client to wear. I got a bigger pair of trousers out and they fit ok.…
For many years there has been a debate between which is better for weight control and all around health and fitness, Cardiorespiratory Exercise or Weight Training. Many people tend to focus only on one aspect of the physical wellness. For example women, like myself may focus more on cardiorespiratory and flexibility training more so than Weight training. This is out of fear of injury, or the muscles becoming too bulky. Women tend to want to burn more calories, therefore they focus on exercises’ such as aerobics, walking, swimming, and jogging. Research shows that working out with weights has health benefits beyond simply bulking up one's muscles and strengthening bones. Studies are finding that more lean muscle mass may allow kidney dialysis patients to live longer, give older people better cognitive function, reduce depression, boost good cholesterol, lessen the swelling and discomfort of lymphedema after breast cancer and help lower the risk of diabetes. Although Weight training has its benefits for variety of reasons; it also has its downside. Weight training promotes short term stiffness of the blood vessels, which could promote High Blood Pressure over time and increase the load on the heart. This would not be good for someone who has a history of Hypertension. A variety of studies have shown that the best way to offset the cardiovascular stress caused by strength training is to combine cardiorespiratory endurance exercise such as a brisk walk, bicycling, or elliptical machine, immediately after a weight training exercise. Regular aerobic exercise causes your lungs to process more oxygen with less effort; your heart to pump more blood with fewer beats; and the blood supply directed to your muscles to increase. As a result, by performing cardiovascular exercises, you are increasing your body's endurance and efficiency.…
I am writing to you a letter of appeal asking you to stop Communism in North Korea. Communism in North Korea has been going on for over 68 years! Communism as a whole is a very vile and inhumane means of governing. It slowly strips away the citizens’ creative ability, reduces their incentives to work hard, and slowly incinerates a countries economy. I urge you to change your ways, although if no change is made North Korea as a whole will self-destruct leaving your countries economy and government out to dry.…
