Head Boy Speach
Hi, I am l some of you may notice that this is in fact my second speech to you, last year I ran for head boy, and you did not vote me in. In hindsight it was the right decision, Liam has done some good work over the last year, most notably the Red nose day fund raisers and also the sixth former for a day scheme, both of which I will continue if you elect me to the post of head boy.
Now, I could stand here and make promises of discos, concerts and other things to be handed to you. You are not small children to be offered promises like this to secure votes, because you know as well as I do that if I promise you these things I can not deliver them. Looking around I know the vast majority of faces here and over the past few years I have watched you grow, and I am proud to know you. This school is made by people like us, it is what makes us unique and it is what makes me passionate. I want this place to be as good as it can be and with your help it will be.
I am a very practical person as I know a lot of you are, we realize that no matter how much we ask, is not going to abolish school uniform. But we are also dreamers, practical dreamers we know there are something that can not be achieved now, but we dream and work for the day they can be achieved. I will not give you a better school but together we will make it

Last year I was asked to be a small group leader for incoming 7th grade students this year. Having known what it felt like to be a new student in a completely different school I jumped on the opportunity to help. I, like Billy tried to be open and welcoming, encouraging the 7th graders to become involved in the Xaverian community just like Billy did for me and I’m sure many others. My goal was to be able to help the 7th graders in any situation whether they needed advice or just want to share a funny story. As a student council senator I would try to do the same. I would strive to always be friendly and kind to all Xaverian students wanting everyone to feel welcome. I would encourage other to join clubs and activities and go on service projects like X-Act and Christmas in the city. Most of all I would want each and every student at Xaverian to feel accepted and to feel excited, knowing that they are each a key part in the larger, greater, Xaverian…

When students have to wear the school uniform, they can’t express themselves through their clothes. We students need to wear normal clothes so we can express ourselves. If we have school uniforms for next year, that means we have to wash clothes every single day. I used to wear school uniforms when I was little. We had to wear a white shirt and blue pants or a skirt. We will get tired of the school uniforms that we wear every day.…

Since freshmen year I have looked up to student council and seen them as the leaders of the school and I have strived to reach that level of leadership and sedulous attitude. During my time at Enloe, I have seen myself grow and become more involved in the Enloe community. This has positively impacted me in many ways and I believe that the next step in my career at Enloe is to join student council. If appointed, I will do my best to add new and creative ideas about Enloe's events. I will also communicate with the student body to discuss their wishes for our school. I wish to be appointed to allow all of the proud students of Enloe's voices be…

School uniforms will help lighten any stress on students to fit into a certain group. There will be no competition in keeping up with today’s trends and fashion. The concept of school uniforms will help with the safety in schools, decrease the disciplinary issues facing schools, help to promote a positive school climate, and also place the focus of schools back on professionalism and excellence in education. All around the world, no matter the location, education stands to be one of the most important elements in a child’s life. Most parents are concerned that their child gets the best education possible, fits in with his or her peers, and to have the best possible experience he or she possibly can. Parents will search schools around the area they live and try to pick the best school that will give their child everything they need. However, when it comes to schools, there is one controversial issue that each school encounters, every year: whether or not the children in their school will be required to wear a uniform. In the article “The Pros and Cons of School Uniforms,” Michelle McDermott explains that 23% of schools in the United States require uniforms. Some parents want their children to go to a school with required uniforms, some parents do not want their kids to wear uniforms, and other parents could not care less on the issue. No matter where each parent stands on the issue, there will always be a few things that all parents will agree on, and that is the fact that they want their children to receive the best education they can.…

Others argue the importance of school uniforms but in reality, they can break the school and families down. They won’t make students feel unique, it is costly for parents, and it can create bullying. Why change a policy that can create harm to students and their environment they live in. Instead, let’s make sure that schools have the freedom to wear what they…

In conclusion, I believe that school uniforms really don’t have a use and should not be used in schools. They limit students ability to express themselves through their clothing. They also don’t help with bullying and violence, they even make it worse. Lastly they don’t help with grades and attendance in school. There is no legitimate reason for schools to make their students wear these school uniforms and I believe that we should exclude school uniforms from all…

However, as stated previously, school is a place to learn not, not to show off your clothing line and your personal swagger. Clothes don’t pick who you are, wearing the uniforms will show that they are all equal and that no one is better than the other one. So, I believe that wearing the uniforms will beneficial to the school, students and parents. Society must decide if individual expression through clothing is more important than education performance being improved because of uniforms being implemented into the school system. Parents and students should remember that uniforms may be required during school hours. After school students can express their individuality in a way, they dress outside of the…
