He Locket By Kate Chopin
he Locket is a short story written by Kate Chopin, and the setting of this is during the Civil War. This story is about war, love, lost and love found. It starts out with Edmond reading a letter from his lover Octavia, and wearing a locket that she gave him, when a battle starts out. A priest recovers the locket and returns I to Octavia. Although the author attempts to deceive the readers into believing Edmond is dead, there are several clues in the story to prove different.

One of the details in the story that gives it away was when Edmund falls sleeping. He was having a dream of Octavia giving him a letter and then about a snake strangling him. He was awaken by all the loud and disturbing commotion of the battle. The locket was ripped
