What has influenced the course of your life the most and why?
"Everybody has his own world", they say. It is nonsense. The world stays

the same. It is how you look at it that makes the difference. It is just like

looking through glasses of your ideas, habits and values. Everybody has

such a pair of glasses. They have been created since you were born and,

believe it or not, they were not created by you. It is OTHER PEOPLE who

have made them. No matter if you love those people, hate them or don.t

know them personally. It is enough to come in touch with their ideas.

However, I do not think it is fate that has influenced the course of my

life. I believe it has been my pair of "glasses": my ideas, habits and values.

Because if my values were different, they would give my life a different

course, too. Well, and if it is the pair of "glasses", through which I see

the world, that has influenced the course of my life the most, it is also

the people who have created my "glasses". As everyone, I have been

influenced by lots of people. And who are the most important of them?

First of all are my parents. They have known and loved me since the

beginning of my existence and they were the first ones to shape my

'glasses' through education. That is why my values are similar to their

values and my 'glasses' similar to their 'glasses', especially my Mum.s.

But there are also differences in our 'glasses' and that is why there can

be friction between us. Sometimes she accepts my ideas, too, although

she thinks something different. But most times she wants me to see

things in the same way as she sees them. That is what I do not like about

her, but such behavior just belongs to us humans: Everybody, or almost

everybody thinks that his glasses are the best and, of course, we want

only the best for the people we love. Luckily, people do not let themselves

be influenced by things they don't want. If everyone thought the same

about everything, our life would be pretty boring!

Next it is my friends who have influenced my

There are many biopsychosocial influences that could affect me this semester. The main biopsychosocial influence that I believe will have an effect on me is socio – cultural with homesickness and being lonely. I am a triplet and I have always gone to school with my siblings, so not seeing them every day could be a challenge for me. The other biopsychosocial influence that I may deal with this semester is biological with not eating as much as I should because I have classes during lunch most of the week. The last biopsychosocial influence that may impact me this semester is psychological with depression and anxiety because I get really anxious over school work and I also don’t have any classes with my roommate which could lead to me having depression. All of these biopsychosocial influences could seriously have an effect on me this semester.…

In my life, I’ve made some good and some bad decisions. I doubt that anyone can perfectly predict my life down to every small detail. I choose to do what I do. For example, I either choose to do my work or choose not to. Or when I take a test and I score low and then I retake the test again a week later without looking over the material again, and fail this time; that’s not destiny. It was my decision that caused that outcome to happen. I choose not to study and I won’t be prepared to take the same test that I already took. Since, I didn’t correct what I got wrong, I’ll probably get it wrong again. It wasn’t fate that made me fail; it was my decision, my laziness and ill will.…

Everyone has values, whether it comes from genetics or from your environment. My values have to do more with my independence, friends and money. They are just my essentials and things I need to keep going. I got my values from trying to escape from my mom. I’ve just always wanted to get away and live on my own. And if I want to be independent I need money to keep myself alive, friends to keep myself entertained and I need the skills of independence to make…

It was a Tuesday afternoon and I was just getting to my psychology class and as usual I was chit chatting with my neighbors in class, Cpl Christie and Fausnight about the things that each of us did this weekend. Just when I had finished talking to Kara (Fausnight) about her weekend our psychology teacher Dr. Douglas walks in. As she is walking in I in my peppy self- personality ask how her weekend went. Dr. Douglas then proceeded to tell me that it was "none of my business"…….maybe she was having a bad day or was really stressed out or maybe in fact it was "none of my business". She also told me that there was a certain thing called boundaries and that I needed to find out what that was. I felt dumbfounded to say the least. I've always been a real social person. Pretty much striking a conversation with anyone. So I was brain storming the other day and I was wondering about what to write my paper about. Just then the previous scenario came to mind and I figured I could intertwine me and how the influences that I've had throughout my life have influenced me and made me the outgoing, friendly, social person that I am. I'll attempt to do this by using Erickson's stages of development (Myers, 2005). O.k. we will start by looking at the infancy stage. Where an infant learns either to Trust or Mistrust people. I don't know how much is true but in talking to my parents they told me that ever since the day I was born I was such a crybaby. They also told me that I never wanted to be alone or have anyone even go as much as 5 feet from me because I would start crying and throwing a fit. The thing though is that most infants develop a sense of "stranger anxiety", which is the fear of strangers (myers, 2005). Me on the other hand, I would only cry when I was left alone, I was never really too afraid of strangers. One reason could be that ever since I was born I came into an environment rich with people. My dad was an associate…

If we never ran into these people that alter our lives, our lives would be very different today. Everybody has someone who has impacted their life in some sort of way, for better or worse.…

What has been a significant experience in your life and what have you taken from it?Surrounded by thousands of stars, complete silence, and spectacular mountains, I stood atop a village in Thailand fifteen miles south of the Burmese border awestruck by nature's beauty and power. Immediately, I realized that there was more to life than knowledge and understanding. The world isn't to be taken granted, and I don't plan to sit on the sidelines as the world passes me by.…
