Truman was born in Lamar,Missouri in May 8, 1884.
His parents names were John and Martha Truman, He also had brother named Vivian and a sister Mary Jane. to Independence a country-seat town which was ten miles east of Kansas city. Harry's childhood and young adulthood were at times quite trying.

He worked really hard to make friends, but was very shy and uncomfortable when girls his age or older were near him. Truman was a really good pianist. He wanted to perform playing piano in concerts. He like other men wanted to be a great soldier.Truman worked hard in school and graduated in 1901.

He wanted to go to a college named West Point but he had really bad eye sight and also his father had financial problems that began in 1900 early that time. So instead Harry attended a business college in Kanas City for maybe a semester but, his family's finances extremely increasing he dropped out of college and worked as a mailman in the summer for the Kansas City Star in 1902.

Harry subsequently worked for a construction company and as a bank clerk but, In 1906 Harry quit his job as a bank clerk. Truman left his position at the bank and went to work on his families farm in Grandview, Missouri, with his father and his brother Vivian, He spent 12 years working on the farm, the farm had a lot of profit. On his free time he enjoyed reading books and doing his share of manual labor, neither of which he enjoyed. He did, but, found satisfaction in two other pursuits. 1905 Harry joined the National Guard, which offered a chance to escape the farm and provided him with companionship for six years. This Act was heavily Republican influenced, anti-union legislation that was passed despite President Truman's veto.
