City level Winners of the first Tamil edition of Tata Building India - School Essay
Competition from 4 cities felicitated in Chennai


Around 1.30 lakh Students from 137 schools participated in the 2009-10 Tamil edition of Tata Building India School Essay Competition from 4 cities in Tamilnadu
(Chennai, Kanchipuram, Coimbatore and Vellore).



The Tamil edition of the competition was held for the first time in 2009-10 in 12 cities across Tamilnadu where around 3.25 lakh students from 375 schools participated •

Part of a national level school essay competition in 6 languages organised by the
Tata group where over 2 million students across 100 cities have participated from
3500 schools

Chennai, Friday October 8, 2010 - Tata group felicitated the city level winners of the
1st edition of ‘Tata Building India School Essay Competition - Tamil 2009-10’.
Around 1.3 lakh students across 137 schools participated in these 4 cities of Tamilnadu.
Winners from these cities Chennai, Kanchipuram, Coimbatore and Vellore were felicitated at a regional award ceremony held at Vijay Park Hotel, Chennai. The chief guest for the evening- Dr. V. Vijayakumar, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Ambedkar Law University gave away the trophies and certificates to the winners. The Tamil edition of the competition was held in 12 cities across Tamilnadu where around 3.25 lakh students from 375 Tamil medium schools participated. The winning essays from these 12 cities will be further judged by a prominent jury for state level recognition.
Tata Building India School Essay Competition 2009-10 is a unique initiative by the
Tata group of companies for encouraging young leaders of tomorrow to showcase their skills while expressing their vision of India of the future. The Tamil essay competition is a part of the national-level contest which has been conducted in 6 languages (English,
Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, and Tamil) and has attracted more than 2 million
students
