What do you need at this very moment that would make you blissfully happy? A teacher absent from school, a free period, the latest iphone or perhaps a stylish Louis Vuitton handbag.
So what is it that brings you true happiness? Throughout time man has sought to find the meaning of happiness. Countless books, thoughts and theories have been written to work out a simple formula for mans eternal quest- a happy and content life. Why is the 9 letter word happiness so important so important that mankind is willing to spend a lifetime to achieve it. Happiness means different things to different people. The sick man will say health, the poor man wealth, the ambitious man power, the scholar knowledge and the over worked man rest. You may have all these things and still not be happy.
Happiness is a state of mind, it is something inward and not outward and does not depend on what you have but rather what you are. Happiness and contentment is an intentional part of our life. When you are grateful and satisfied with what you have you will taste the wonder of contentment.
According to an old Chinese proverb, if you want happiness for an hour take a nap, for a day go fishing, for a month get married, for a year inherit a fortune and for a lifetime help others, offer a helping hand and your happiness will increase.
The pursuit of happiness is one of life’s most important journeys so don’t wait a lifetime to discover and experience it. Live this day as if it is your last. Happiness stems from satisfaction and an inner quality within ourselves and how we perceive life.
