<br>The structure of the scene is an important feature used to display the characters ' ambiguity, especially with the characters of Hamlet and Claudius. Only Hamlet is alone on the stage at any one time, and is therefore the only character who can express his true feelings. Claudius, however, is only on stage when in the company of his court, and cannot be as free with his thoughts and language. The scene can be divided roughly into four sections; the assembly of the court and the King 's speeches, Hamlet 's soliloquy, the discussion about the ghost, and Hamlet 's second shorter soliloquy. However the extract in question only concerns the first two sections.…

Claudius had just bought me a new necklace and dress, which I could not wait to show off to all the people less fortunate than myself. As Claudius and I arrived at the theater we were escorted into the best seats in the house. I sat down I could tell that all the other women were jealous of me and would do anything to be in my position. Before the play began my foolish son made a great scene in front of everyone. Hamlet began to rant about who knows what, better yet who cares. All I know is that he was making a fool out of himself along with Claudius and I.…

Now that Hamlet knows the murderous sin Claudius has committed, Hamlet feels no guilt in avenging his father's death.
