Hamlet Act 2 Essay
In act I section II, the new king of Denmark, Claudius is dealing with affairs of state addressing two important issues. At the start of Act I section II the new king of Denmark, Claudius, first brings up with the issue with the state of Denmark, after the passing of the old king, Hamlet, it only took two months for Claudius and Gertrude ,the wife of Hamlet, to marry one another. To explain this he talks about how the kingdom had grieved over the loss of their previous king and how it has effect everyone greatly. However, after about two months the nation had stopped its grieving, also by having the new king marry the previous queen the people of Denmark will be delighted upon learning this and those who still weeped over the passing of the

First off, the message Claudius send to the king of Norway will not stop the threats. In fact it will most likely cause a war between Norway and Denmark, this is due to the fact that even if the king of Norway accepts Claudius’ message the prince of Norway, Fortinbras, won’t given in to Claudius’ words and defect from this kingdom and attack Denmark with other warriors that feel the same way. The reason for this is the fact that, the old king of Denmark, Hamlet, has perished recently and Claudius is still new to the throne meaning if he were to attack Denmark now he could easily overpower the nation because their still hurting over the loss of their previous king so they’re moral is fairly low and Claudius is still new to the throne so he most likely knows very little about war so it would be easy to take them down. Also, Fortinbras’ father/previous king of Norway had lost his life at the hands the previous king, Hamlet, and at the same time Hamlet took some land from the Norwegians so even is Fortinbras’ uncle/king says to stop sending threats Fortinbras will deny his orders and form an army of his own to take down the kingdom of Denmark and finally get his vengeance of the nation that took his father away from
