Hair Pomade Research Paper
Hair pomade has been used since the 1800s, allowing hair to be slick, neat, and shiny. When it comes to pomade there are two main types: oil based, and water based. There are many advantages when it comes to using oil based pomade. It will never dry due to the natural ingredients, making the hair more malleable. The shine will last the entire day depending on preference. The pomade makes the hair look healthy throughout the whole day. Water based pomade revolutionized the pomade industry. This product is still in development, but in their current state, they perform better than oil based pomade. This newly introduced pomade removes the oil base, a key ingredient of traditional pomade. They are easy to wash out with no greasiness or acne breakouts, unlike oil based pomade. With oil based pomade you must use olive oil and warm water to remove the product, making water based pomades much more convenient. Unlike water based pomade, oil-based will have a build up of product, from the previous day. Water based pomade has a variety of products with different styling effects, and both holding power and duration. This is a higher end product, making it easy to style a very naturally shaped pompadour. These two products are similar in many ways, but the choice depends on which users

After the end of World War II (1939–45), many people considered the 1950s to be the beginning of a modern world, full of new products that would make their lives easier. The bright, the shiny, and the new were valued above all, and fashions reflected this. Hair spray, made of liquid plastics and vinyl that harden when they are sprayed on the hair to form a kind of shell that keeps the hair from falling out of its style, became very popular during the 1950s and early 1960s. Styles were crisp and clean, and hairstyles were held in place with aerosol hair spray. Aerosol sprays, substances dispensed from a pressurized can, had been developed for use with insecticides during World War II, and they were quickly adopted by the hair-care…
